It's supposed to be another venue than the one from 2000 worlds, but I don't think they are sure at the moment.

Great -- thanks so much for the info. Mr. DaveRocks and I will be there!
Does anyone know the name of the two possible arenas in Nice? Just curious so I can check out some hotels. Thanks
I believe it has been confirmed that the venue is Palais des Expositions.
To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.
Thanks millipied and allezfred.
Looks like I'll get to meet the infamous fred -- eeeeeek!![]()
Do those Worlds have an official website yet? I'm dying to know how much the tickets will be to check if I'll be able to afford them (otherwise I'm going to Sheffield).
Nice is expensive in summer, I am not quite sure about the other times but 2001 wasn't that expensive.
^ well, it's quite obvious it'll be more expensive, the question is how much more. But then again, you get to see much more & better skaters than at Europeans. And plus, I've always wanted to visit Nice.
I think Worlds tickets have been close to $1000 US the past few years. As far as waiting for an official website, I woulnd't hold my breath. When they sponsored Euros in 2006 they kept saying they were coming out with info on packages with hotel and tickets. First they said in a month and I waited more than a month and contacted them again....and it just kept going on an on. It took forever for them to come out with the info.
Well at least the venue is decided; now at least I check into hotel information and airfares.
It would be nice to have the ticket prices for the event known soon as well, but based on how slowly information seems to have been forthcoming, we might be lucky to know before the season even starts.![]()
My Life Would Suck Without FS-You
Excellent! I think I can deal with a crappy arena if it's easy to get to, and I've never been to other parts of France than Paris.![]()
What is crappy about the arena? Seats? Cold? Concession stands?
Does anyone know what hotel was the Skaters Hotel at previous events there?
My recollection from 2000 is : "scaffolding" supporting seats - this is an Exhibition Centre, not an Arena. Deafening when all the school kids were stamping their feet, as they did when any French skaters appeared!
Definitely not enough toilets for the ladies (but that's normal).
No concession stands at all.
Good point is that the weather is likely to be mild; I don't remember being cold (unlike Bern, ugh!).
Did they let you bring food in then? And were the seats like benches with no backs, or like regular seats?
