I think it's going to be Nice. Nice was supposed to be announced as the location at Worlds...

That would be nice if they did.

Oh no, Nice is nice but Montpellier would be marvellous.

I thought Gailhaguet was trying to give next year's worlds to Japan?

I like Nice, the practice rink is cool, but the arena (exhibition parc) they used for Worlds in 2000 was crap.

He didn't succeed. Japan will probably get 2015 Worlds.

You would have to take a connection flight from Paris, but once you get to the destination, you'd watch the Worlds in France's newest and reportedly best sports complex, instead of in a make-shift rink that is crap, as Eislauffan described.

Survived Bern. It can't be any worse? Can it?

The question is, wouldn't you have preferred to take a connection flight in order to reach a rink warmed up to 18°C?

I wouldn't have survived Bern, ever. I hate being cold! However, Nice won't be cold. Just crap.

Nice is lovely. Not sure about the arena.

This blog entry was posted to the Arena Montpellier website last month. I did a quick Google translation and it seemed the blog entry was pointing out the advantages to Montpellier being chosen as the host. Since the online translations aren't always accurate though, is there anything else that jumps out to our expert translators out there?

Even if the make-shift arena in Nice is crap, are their nearby (walking distance) hotels and/or public transportation that runs to the arena?

The research I've done on Montpellier makes it looks like an exquisite arena, but it doesn't seem to have any public transport and hardly any hotels nearby. I have seen shuttle service at U.S. National events, but never at a Worlds comp (unless it was a service of a tour group). But I have never made it to a European Worlds either. I'm hoping next year might be my first....
I meant to take the high road.... but I missed the exit.

Didn't go to Worlds, but I spend a week in Nice and the surrounding areas back in the 90s and I just loved it.
I think I will have a snack and take a nap before I eat and go to sleep.

I'm also very curious. I'm looking to get plane tickets (on points) ASAP. If it ends up being switched to Montpellier, would it be easy enough to take a train from Nice to Montpellier?

It has been announced it will be Nice in french newspapers. Although noone knows the venue yet, there are still two possibilities if I understood things right. I may not have understood them right for the record hey

From what I have heard, it definitely seems to be Nice.

Nice in the end of March 2000 was lovely.
I hope it will be as warm in 2012.

I guess it's still not decide which location in Nice will host the main event, but Nice does have a tram system that stops next to the venue used for the 2000 World Championships. Provided they use the same venue as in 2000, one could conceivably stay somewhat close to the waterfront and just hop on the tram to travel to the competition. If they don't use the same venue, I'm not sure what the other options are and whether the tram provides similar connectivity.
