Volunteers needed for a national event in Ontario, California in early March 2011!
I have been asked to help spread the word to skating fans and anyone else who might be interested to gain first-hand volunteering experience at a major skating event. Any and all help would be gratefully received and you might even have some fun along the way!
The 2011 US Synchronized Skating Championships will be happening March 2 to 5, 2011, at the new and beautiful Citizens Business Bank Arena, in Ontario, California. Over 75 teams -- 1500 skaters from all over the United States -- will be competing at this prestigious National event!
Volunteers are needed to help with:
*Practice Ice (at the arena, as well as at three other locations in Ontario, Riverside and Anaheim)
*Arena Flow Control
*Where ever else help is needed
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and commit to a minimum of two six-hour shifts. Volunteers will receive an official event garment and their event credential will be valid for admission.
If you are interested, please go to www.2011synchronationals.com, click on "Volunteers" on the left side, and fill out the online form, or you can download the PDF form and mail to the address listed on the form.
For those volunteers coming from outside the Ontario area, a special hotel rate of $69 per night at the Comfort Suites at Ontario Airport has been arranged, which includes continental breakfast. Contact the Comfort Suites at (909) 605-0700, ask for the "Synchro Volunteer" rate.
Temperatures in March are a low of 50 degrees and a high of 75!! And no snow, unless you drive to the ski resorts in Lake Arrowhead or Big Bear! Come to California! Come join the fun! Come volunteer at the 2011 US Synchronized Skating Championships!

Oh, if I lived any closer, I would, but Ontario is a drive for me! Boo.
Synchro Nationals are a great event so if you get the chance to volunteer or attend you will see some amazing skating.
Finally, an event in my hood! I live in Ontario and Citizens is a couple of blocks away!
I sent some of the info to friends who live in the area. Maybe they can volunteer!
I second this -- I remember being amazed at the high quality of skating when I attended this event back in 1996. It's a very festive atmosphere with teams of all levels cheering each other on from the audience, and exciting to see skaters performing complicated group maneuvers and footwork so close together!
