Sucks and True Dork Times are reporting that its Ozzy and Coach returning.

Ugh, I thought Coach's movie premiere would keep him away. I guess we really won't know for sure till the premiere happens if he's on or not.

Ozzy, no big surprise at all. He one of Jeff's all times favorites and has the athletic skills to go on a RI/immunity run to keep him the game.

I don't think Ozzy could pull a Rob. A smart team will keep him as far as the merge because he'll win them challenges, but then get rid of him asap for the same reason. I don't remember his social game being particularly good.

Coach surprises me as I thought his second time around he'd gone all zen about the whole thing and was at peace with it. He was a different player his first two times out, so who knows what we'd get this time.

Both these guys have played twice before - if they're going to make this truly about "redemption" shouldn't it be someone who has played once and for whatever reason didn't go as far as they might have? I still like the idea of someone like Mike from Australia, who was injured and thus didn't fulfill his potential in the game. I didn't mind Stephanie the first time she came back, as it seemed so clear she'd lucked out with a useless tribe and things would have been much different for her in other circumstances - but then she was indeed redeemed that time as she got to play the full game.

And someone's going to criticize them if it's indeed four men who have been brought back in this era of redemption, and no women.

Ozzy's social game does suck. He lucked out in Cook Islands with the mutiny (he was next on the chopping block at Aitu) but when Candace & Jonathon left for the other tribe, Yul had to team up with Ozzy and then they went on that great immunity run, dragging Saundra & Becky all over the Islands!

Then he was terrible in Fans vs Favorites and got blindsided really badly. We'll see if he has learned anything about the social aspect of the game, this time as he's going to need it to survive long. One thing that will limit Ozzy in challenges is no swimming in Samoa.

And I agree, "Redemption" should be for players that have only played once and need another chance. Not Favorites of Jeff and CBS! the lack of females is concerning but when has a female been a favorite of Jeff!?! I guess you'd have to go back to Stephanie.

Just on the general topic of return players, even though I loved Rob and thoroughly enjoyed watching him play again, and appreciate his contribution to Survivor history by playing such a masterful game this time, part of me didn't like him coming back, or Russell.

Personally, I think after the first shot, you can have one more as an all star or return player, but that's it. After that, it's just too much of a producer/favourite lovefest, all the while sacrificing the opportunity for us to get to know new players (for the past two seasons especially, I really feel like they are not bothering with character development at all any more, and that's a shame because it's a big part of the game).

I do hope that whoever returns next season are people who have played only once before.

If they really want to bring back who they perceive to be fan faves again, then fine do another all stars and cast anyone you want, and make them play for charity - but don't give these lifers another chance to play the "real" game.

Thing to remember is, Probst and CBS will do whatever will garner ratings, which means if they could get away with Rob and Russell every season, they'd do it. None of this fairness stuff matters, it's all about the Q rating.
