OMG I had never seen Stephane's cat routine! Hysterical. Where did he find that music?!!! You gotta give the boy credit. He's got cohones. lol

I agree Candeloro's George of the Jungle was embarrassing. Hey anyone who can make Scotty stop talking you know something crazy is happening.

And Sex Bomb. Just no Plush.

I can't believe you've never seen that! That program is seriously the most voidy and hysterical thing I have ever seen on ice, yes, even more so than Debi Thomas's Wanda Beezle and Laurent Tobel's cross-dresser exhibitions. It's like he didn't know whether he wanted to portray a cat or a lady bug, so he chose a red/black cat costume. Meeeooooowwwwwww! Love ya, Steph! <3 What's really weird and awkward is how serious the audience is in that video. I watch it and I can't control my laughter every time.

The gold standard for all skating exhibition programs, IMO... I love it even more 'cause she's such a class act...

Wasn't Stephane horribly embarrassed by the Cat exhibition, and tried to get all traces of it off of the internet or something?

I remember this so well, I still have the 1984 Olys on tape. You have a good memory, but it was Klimova & Ponomarenko who had the embarrassing costume problem.

Yes. Please pass the brain bleach.

The music is The Cat's Duet by Rossini. Apparently he wrote it for two sopranos who hated each other.

Years ago when I did theatre we had two women perform it dressed as cats which was hilarious.

Bechke & Petrov also used it as a competitive program many years ago.

That Philippe Candeloro one may give me nightmares. If I was in the front row of that audience, I would have been scared. I think I might have averted my eyes during most of the program when I watched that comp. on tv.

The Petrenko one was kind of stupid, and also Yagudin's One Banana (sort of racist). I remember seeing that Rudy Galindo program at the time and being like uggghh, but it didn't seem so bad this time around - probably because I had just watched Philipppe, so anything would not seem bad in comparison. Baby Plush is just really creepy.
