Technically, it wasn't an exhibition program and it wasn't so much embarrassing as outrageous. Alexei Urmanov's second program at the World Professional Figure Skating Competition in 1999. I was at MCI Center that night. When he took the ice, several people near me whispered to one another, "What is he wearing on his head?" The hat. The cape. The wand. It was Urmanov at his most flamboyant and quirky.

Ah yes..one of the worst programs ever from an OGM. Luckily Yagudin has the honor of having the absolute worst.

Thanks, you all. That was great and fun.....my problem is that I would watch Anjelika Krylova even if she were just reading a phone book...

BTW, Are there any vids of Yasa Netchaeva and Yuri Chesnichenko skating?

    Packing for nationals..gotta run

I am sure we are getting it all wrong. This program was part of a campaign for healthy nutrition

The very mention of that programme gives me the dry heaves.
To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.

Green plastic vines as boob covering: they give me The Fear.

Like an ad for a theme restaurant and bar at a resort I don't want to go to, ever.

I haven't seen this in some time. Absolutely brilliant! Thanks. I loved Uncle Dick's "Oh my!".

lol I love the 1998 one, but I had forgotten(how I don't know) about the 1997 one. That is hilarious.

    My favorite G & G exhibition "Verdi's Requiem" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHXKAkf4qZw

Go to about 1:45 in for the actual skate, as this was shown as a memorial at another show.
