Good people of the FSU, I am here to tell you that our Tinami Amori is a woman of her word. My Delft egg cups have arrived! Say what you will of her.... say that she's an elitist snob who would rather sip champagne with Mr. Rourke than jump sharks with The Fonz, say that she's a tireless defender of twizzles Russian Aborigine style, say that she's a champion for twisted Chinese mothers. Say all that and other things, just don't say that she's a woman who welches on a deal.

So this Canadian was her local grocery store today and what did I find in the housewares section? A breakfast set with plate, bowl, mug and egg cup. I immediately thought of this thread.

So the new show Covert Affairs, shown on Showcase in Canada, not sure where in USA, may actually be taped in Canada because the character's boss and the her boss's husband who is the head of the whole division had a scene where she served him breakfast in bed, complete with boiled egg in a very stylin' egg cup. It was actually almost a small rectangular plate, with molded egg-holder in the middle - in black.

Speaking of breakfast and egg recipes, we made this last weekend and plan to have it again this weekend -

Eggs with mustard creamed spinach and crispy crumbs


It calls for a fried egg, but I could see it working with a poached egg (or the cheat of making a soft boiled egg and carefully peeling it), or with the egg on the side as an excuse to use one's lovely collection of egg cups.
