    No, it isn't. It's December 30th.

that in the 21st century anyone would be called Mrs. Peter Phillips.
"I have been assured by a very knowing American of my acquaintance in London, that a young healthy child well nursed, is, at a year old, a most delicious nourishing and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled; and I make no doubt that it will equally serve in a fricasie, or a ragoust." ~ 'A Modest Proposal' ~ Jonathan Swift

The Princess Royal is Princess Anne, Peter's mother. Princess Royal is a title customarily given to the eldest daughter of the sovereign. More here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Royal

    Thanks, MLIS.

Um, Your Royal Highness? That hair hasn't been in fashion since the 60's.

Well, I think it's now obvious the vicious bug I've been battling since Boxing Day has affected my brain cells.

    Thanks for the correction!!

Hehehe... It's Princess Anne's way. She's quite famous for recycling nearly 30-year old dresses. She wore the same dress to a wedding in the past year or two (I want to say Freddy Windsor's wedding but I'm not positive) that she wore to Charles & Diana's wedding back in 1981. So, why not keep the same hairstyle? I suspect that I'd quite like Princess Anne if I knew her personally.

Poor Anne - not too many real people have to worry that someone will recognize a dress they once wore almost 30 years earlier. Good on her for her waste-not-want-not attitude.

I assume it is their way of assuring that everyone knows exactly who it is in relation to the Queen. More people probably recognize Peter Phillips as her grandson than his wife's name, since they do not have titles and are not in the news every fourteen seconds like their cousins.
