Paul Wylie's silver medal free skate, yes -- that was unbelievable.

1988 & 1992 Olympics, I was in college and grad school and living in shared houses with Americans, Canadians, Germans and Brits. 1988 in Boston, 1992, Toronto. Everybody who landed a jump, spun fast, *stood up* their footwork - victory! Home country advantage, even better. If Dick Button or the CBC/CTV announcers liked them, we loved them even more.

1988 Olympics, pretty much everyone who skated

Yagudin in '02...felt bad for Plushenko and would have been happy for his win, but both of his olympic skates were disappointing to me. Kulik in '98. Kim in '10 but all the stuff that came later sort of ????.

    Ladies:
Yuna Kim - because there was so much pressure on her and she not only delivered but performed 2 perfect programs as if nothing was at stake.

Sarah Hughes - A big surprise and it was just awesome that she landed all those 3-3 combos, cheated though they may have been. Also such a young and happy champion you just feel good about.

    Men:
Evan Lysacek - I'm not a huge fan personally but his victory really showed how perseverance and hard work can pay off.

Alexei Yagudin - One of the best performances of all time.

Dancing : T&D 1984, K&P 1992 (the Duchesnays made them up their game considerably)

    Pairs : S&Z 2010 (about time!)

Men: Curry 1976 (still a mesmerizing performance), Yagudin 2002, Lysacek 2010 (for working smart)

Ladies : Hamill 1976, Arakawa 2006 (yes 30 years between the skaters I wanted to win doing o), Kim 2010 (she worked hard and smart)

^ I'm glad that several of you consider Evan's win satisfying, despite the animosity it generated with some

Yagudin for the men was certainly the most convincing. All of the judges gave him first place, his performance was electric, and his is the only OGM I haven't heard anyone (not even silver medalist Plushenko) complain about.

For me personally, it was Arakawa. I always looked forward to watching her and thought her skating was underrated compared to Onda and Suguri.

    Oksana
One of the most artistic Olympic performances (tho I wish she didn't have to change the ending to include the 3t). And yes, I hated the thought of NK winning gold.

    Tara
A very difficult, clean program that was skated with pure abandon. The surprise win and Tara's reaction are priceless.

    Kulik
I was rooting for my fav Elvis, but this was such a "satisfied" performance. The only thing keeping it from being perfect is that gawd-awful shirt.

    Shen & Zhao
Not their best performance, but I am SO glad the Olympic gold is part of their legacy!

G & P were the most overated couple of the lot- they only won Lillehammer vy virtue of the fact there were 3 former Soviet Union bloc judges on the panel - and one from Russia too- so you can hardly say the result is beyond reproach.

T & D should have won in Norway- and form remain the best of the lot

Most satisfying victories based on both being the best performance and my favorites:

    1984 - Torvill & Dean

    1992 - Klimova & Ponomarenko

    1998 - Ilia Kulik

    2002 - Alexei Yagudin

    2006 - Shizuka Arakawa

    2010 - Virtue & Moir

And not their best performance, but skaters I love and so was very happy for:

    1992 - Kristi Yamaguchi

    2010 - Shen & Zhao
