When Yuna was a student at Su-Ri girl's high school, she put red carnation corsages on her teachers for Teacher's Day.
5 years later, she received it from a student. And in the picture, Yuna wears her hair bobbed.![]()

Yuna Kim school in Republic of South Sudan.
Yesterday, Jun 2, Yuna visited Salecio Center in Singil-dong, Seoul and donated 70 million won (about $60,000 as much money to build a school) to join the effort of it's on going program to build 100 small schools at rural communities in Republic of South Sudan.
Yuna: "Last year, I went to Togo to host PyeongChang Winter Olympics and I was very impressed in Africa. Father, I'd like to be of help, even if it's only in a small way."
Vincenzo Donati, back to Korea last month for fund raise, told Yuna "One of school have a name after you and hope you to visit there when children are free from all anxiety and study hard."
The Father also played "Danube Waltz" on the accordion and gave a picture of African local product to Yuna to return the courtesy.
According to the Salecio Center, this meeting began with a letter of May 21. Vincenzo Donati sent letters introducing his fund-raise activities and appealing for support to some persons in his minds and Yuna actively replied to the letter.

Even with time off being active athlete for God-knows how long, she still is #1 sports star and #1 commercial star in Korea. The athlete who claimed first with 47% (12,752) of the votes was none other than South Korea’s figure skating queen Kim Yuna, who won the 2010 Winter Olympics champion in Ladies’ Singles.
Those who had voted for the figure skating goddess wrote, “Kim Yuna has turned figure skating into a popular sport,” “Although she’s younger than me, I was truly moved by her performances. I remember when I felt proud of her,” “I was never interested in figure skating before, but through Kim Yuna, I realized just how beautiful and artistic a sport it is. I believe that Korea has become more recognized thanks to her,” and more.

"Follow Olympic Athletes" site from IOC.

YuNa is on the list of top followed athletes.
Okay, I did some statistics on this one This ranking is based on followers on each athlete's facebook page and twitter.
Yuna's ranked 28th overall, and she's one of only two athletes to come from Asia among top 50; Yuna Kim(28th) and Yao Ming(31th).
She is the also only female winter sports athlete among top 40 with Lindsey Vonn ranked at 41th place. Shaun White(13th) and she's the only winter sports athletes among top 40.
As for the figure skaters,
Yuna's the first ranking athlete, 28th with about thirteen million fans,
Johnny Weir follows her as 72th ranked athlete with 177,764 fans-whopping margin between them!,
Joannie Rochette who is ranked 88th with 114,911 fans,
Evan Lysacek, 93th with 109,806 fans,
Evgeni Plushenko, 94th with 107,821 fans.
You know it's already well known that Yuna's gathered her fans pretty much ALL AROUND THE WORLD, but still, to see that numbers and to see her rank so high among all olympic athletes, it's so overwhelming.
I guess there's reason why international organizations like IOC or UNICEF appreciate Yuna so much.

I wonder if the proposal is considered as an ice show or not. I listened to the clip, but neither mentioned the "ice show" word.
The closing date of the PyeongChang 2013 Special Olympics overlaps the starting date of 4CC. I'm not an expert of all those complicated ISU laws, but I heard that they may need a special permission from ISU for the plan to proceed.

ATS, Yuna's management, informed "There will be a press conference at 15:00 in the 2nd floor main conference room of International ice rink, Taereung Training Center." and added "Yuna will announce her future plan on her skating life."[/B]
On June 16 in Shanghai, Some reporters asked her on her skating life. Yuna said "I particularly made up my mind and could announce it before summer."
Koreans fan and people concerned with figure skating NOW looks relaxed but feels all anxious inside. All are restraining hasty forecast and just waiting the press conference.
I can take Yuna's decision as it comes.
13:00
I visited some Korean skating forums and almost all posts are as below
I just hope it's just a happening. Why is it needed?"Whatever path you select, I will respect your decision and support you as always."
"As you wish."

A retirement announcement is now unlikely. Surely, it would not merit a press conference since it would be such a simple statement to make: "I have decided to retire." That's it.
On the other hand, since it will take place on the Taereung ice rink as a press conference, it might indicate a return to competition with some clarification statements (when, which competition, what programs, who's the coach, etc.).
15:00
Yuna said "I will retire at Sochi and want to be an IOC Athletes Commission member."
It was aired on YTN live.
Reporters gathered around the press conference.

Jumping for joy here!!! Which competition will she go to first? 4CC, Worlds, or maybe even a GP?!
OMG OMG OMG .... you mean she's returning to compete in Sochi? That is fabulous news. It will make the ladies competition more competitive like the men's. There will be tremendous pressure for Yuna to keep up her performances and I hope she can handle the pressure. I love to see her do well. Awaiting more news on Yuna.![]()
