Whose haircutter is you're favorite?

I was having a disagreement with a friend. She believed that in a haircutter, the leg should be brought up to the head, rather than keeping the knee down near the standing knee and bending the head back to the head.

Do you see what I mean where there's 2 different kinds? Personally, I prefer the second type (bending the back more and keeping the knees closer together), but which do you prefer?

I have no idea about the move in skating but as a dancer, Carolina's is more correct.

Cohen's layback is much more beautiful. Carolina's actually not a layback but a sideways spin with catch-foot (which is accepted as a layback in the cop). I don't really know the exact expression in english though.

Oh I thought that this thread was going to be about something else completely, and I was thinking more along the lines of Plush vs Lloyd Jones vs Artur Gachinski for best haircut.

I didn't know it was the name of a spin... I prefer Cohen's position aesthetically, but Kostner's seems to be the correct way because she brings it up to her head... looks more difficult.

I think we need a different comparison. Hands down Sasha has a better layback than Carolina.

I think a head-cutter should be brought next or right behind the head. It makes it look better (like Mirai's or Emily Hughes'). Carolina's layback isn't really notable... The thing is if you also it bring it closer to the head, it makes it harder to bend back as much, so skaters need to be able to do both like Mirai and Emily were able to do.

I agree. I had actually forgotten about Mirari's layback, and just looked it up now. It may actually like it better than Sasha's, but they are slightly different (but more similar that Carolina's).

I think that what Carolina is doing is more of a haircutter and what Sasha is doing is a pearl spin, like Mirai's.
