    MMMMM...Love French Toast!!!!

I usually make french toast with left over Italian bread. But I tried French toast with "Oregon Trails" raison cinnamon bread. It was the best french toast I ever had. Used maple syrup too.

Here's my "famous" recipe I originally posted year 5 years ago (wow, time flies!). I made this once again for Christmas morning breakfast, and I swear it gets better every year. This time it REALLY got puffed and golden in the oven and was fabulous.

I posted a recipe that was sent to me for Egg Nog Pie. I hope no one made this. I made it & it was tasted just like eggnog but it wasn't very good & it was too rich.

But I am going to try the baked French toast..that sounds really yummy.

I clicked on that link, but I get a message saying that I don't have permission to access that page. I even clicked that checkbox that asks you if you're over 21, and it still wouldn't let me in!

Does this recipe use illegal ingredients or somethin'?

Sauce that was a big hit at dinner, similar to a recipe from Top Chef Holiday episode with a few differences, original recipe was created by Tiffani Faison, I don't really do measurements with sauces, more so smell/color/taste:

    Chicken Stock
Marsala Wine (I'd say roughly a 1 cup Chicken stock to 1/2 cup Wine ratio but I really couldn't say if that was the case, but that was what it "felt" like, HAHA).
    3 Star Anise Cloves
    Ground Cardamom
    Black Pepper
    Burleed (Burnt) Orange
    3 Cherries
    Salt

    1. Slice an orange in half, place both halves "face" down in the pan and heat until well browned (not quite burnt so you don't get that bitter taste, but pretty close).
    2. Once the oranges are burnt, add the chicken stock, leaving the oranges in the pan
    3. Add wine.
    4. Crush/pierce cherries so the juice will seep out.
    5. Add Star Anise, Salt, Pepper, Cardamom.
    6. Reduce to about 1/4 of the original size
    7. Remove the oranges with tongs, strain into the bowl using a mesh strainer.
    8. Correct seasoning and serve. If you want to be extra naughty, whisk in butter

I used this for Quail but you could use this for just about any poultry and probably fish as well.

Really, now. I just clicked on the link in four different areas here and it was fine. It may be that you can't access an archived post, which is where I found the link. If you really want the recipe, I could copy and paste for you. Let me know.

If it wouldn't be too much trouble for you. Thanks.
