^ Awesome! Definitely going to be interesting.
Some Kiri Baga updates:
Alright people, it's time for a great week of cardio, yoga, and single jumping! Building up after my injury. feelin' good.And...Lots to do, lots to do. I'm so glad Christmas break is right around the corner! And I'll be doing doubles on Monday people! YAY!
She has good taste!I always knew Alissa was a champ! yay Alissa! Her skating screams senior lady, I love it.
Kiri from today:
Rocked out a double axel today! I'm definitely starting to believe I can skate well at Nationals even though I've been hurt.
Kiri updated her journal on her website at FSO talking about her injury. Not where where to post it so, uh, figured I could put it here for now!
Glad she's doing better! Going to totally root for her at Nats.
Article on Kimmie Meissner, mostly about the Salute to American Skating show but a bit on what she's doing: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/b...,7347049.story
Meissner, 21, hasn't skated in competition since 2009, when a severe knee injury forced her to the sidelines.
But the University of Delaware sophomore skates almost every day at Ice World in Abingdon and trains with coach Chris Conte. And she has remained active in ice shows and charity fund raisers, such as the Baltimore-based "Cool Kids" campaign that aids young cancer patients and their families.
Yes, quite the 180, no?
I agree, I wouldn't have even guessed that was Kimmie. I gotta say it is a huge improvement for me.
Long Island Newsday article (Dec. 25) on Samantha Cesario (she's been dealing with "inflammation around a disc in her back"): http://www.newsday.com/sports/cesari...nals-1.2569236
Lansing (MI) State Journal article on Hannah Miller (Mids Novice gold medalist, age 14) that includes video: http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/a...0314/1001/NEWS
(Her father, Kevin, was a pro hockey player who was on Team USA at the 1988 Calgary Olympics.)
Baltimore Sun article on Allison Timlen (Easterns Junior gold medalist, age 15): http://articles.baltimoresun.com/201...-denise-cahill
(I'm very glad to hear she's decided to change her FS - at Easterns I thought the music was too heavy for her.)
I am cross-posting these article links in the 2011 US Nationals forum in Kiss and Cry (as well as on my blog's Nationals page).

Yes, such nice, smooth skating.
Everybody likes Kimmie - and I have heard that red dogs love her
Thanks for the articles Sylvia.
Does anyone else think it's a little odd that Cesario's goal at Nationals this year is to crack top 6? At least she's ambitious.
