Yeah, that was kind of expensive and pointless. Glad the rumors were false.

I realize there have been a number of injuries and withdrawals but there are some interesting facts about the finalists vis-a-vis last years medalists:

1. 3 Japanese ladies qualified but Mao is not one of them
2. A Frenchman is in but it is not Joubert
3. 2 Canadian dance teams qualified but neither is Virtue & Moir
4. 2 Russian pairs qualified but neither one is Kavaguti & Smirnov

The injuries and quaratines are allowing many skaters to compete that would not have had the opportunity otherwise. Many won't be there next year, especially in pairs.

for instance...I/M would not have qualified for the GPF if K/S competed in Canada. Even if you doubled K/S score from the COR they would be in third, and that score is without a lift they never got credit for.

I can't wait for worlds when they all get to compete together.
