La Liga has blocked CR's goal.

Messi's is impossible. A left footed swerving shot from the left side of goal catching right upper V is a ridiculous shot to attempt. Messi is one of the very, very few that can score on a free kick like that. The keeper never moved & his team mates were not ready for it. He seemed to catch everyone napping.

Hokey Smokes....The USMNT just beat Italy in Genoa 1-0. Sure, it was a friendly, but that is a gigantic win for Klinsi and the boys. First time the USMNT has EVER beaten Italy, and the first time Italy has lost in Genoa in over 100 yrs! A historic win.

Plus, Dempsey's goal off of a feed from Altidore was excellent and the 2nd half defending by the USA was fabulous. To make the day even better Colombia beat Mexico 2-0 in front of 51,615 at Sun Life Stadium, "The Stadium of Many Names", in Miami. USA wins. Mexico loses. Perfect...

Boas' exit was predictable. The man never really did the job. It will be interesting to see who the next manager will be.

Bayern, as in Bayern Munich? Or Bayer, as in Bayer Leverkusen?

Bayer Leverkusen defeated Bayern Munich in league play 2-0 on March 3rd. They then played Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League & got their asses kicked 7-1. Different team than the one you thought is was possibly?

Fox Soccer Channel rebroadcast that game last night. It was men against boys. It actually got to be painful to watch after Barca went up 5-0.

NJL (...it is difficult to believe that Barca is currently in 2nd place in La Liga, their domestic league....Real Madrid must be truly bodacious this year if they are leading Barca by 7 points......)

Football just got somewhat less corrupt today. Ricardo Teixeira stepped down as president of the Brazilian Football Federation.
