Sinead re-injured, the Kerrs to miss CoR and British Nats

    from John's facebook:

Unfortunately Sinead and I will not be competing at Cup of Russia or the British Championships due to Sinead re-injuring her shoulder. We WILL be back for Europeans though so you will see us compete again this season.
I KNEW there was something more to their defeat at SC. I hope she recovers really soon and we get to see them at their full potential at Europeans.

And what's with all the injuries this season, anyway?

Oh, that really is a shame

Especially because the British would have been our last chance to see them compete here in the UK before they retire at the end of the season http://www.iceskating.org.uk/node/4320 .

At the Skate Canada International gala, she performed the reversed lift where she lifted John. Her shoulder must have been OK at that point, unless that lift was what caused the re-injury.

Maybe they'll reconsider since they really haven't been at their best due to Sinead's injury?

What a shame. Speedy recovery to Sinead.

I hope taking the time off will enable her to heal completely by Euros.
Q: Why can't I read the competition threads?
A: Competition forums on the board are available to those with a Season Pass or a premium membership How to View Kiss & Cry

I have never believed they will retire after this season! Euros in Sheffield next season?!

Very sad for them although not surprised, I've had a bad feeling. Glad that they are staying positive.

Poor Sinead! I hope she gets better really soon. Only performing at SC, Euros and Worlds before they retire makes me sad

    : Hope Sinead heals quickly.
I actually did the same injury as her (popped my shoulder out two days in a row) at about the same time and it still feels like it is going to pop out again if I reach out at the certain angles. It's a painful nuisance for me, and I'm far from an elite athlete, so I probably don't use my shoulder half as much as Sinead.

I'm so going to miss that SD. And, of course, the Kerrs-I think they're very talented.

And yeah, I was really surprised when they got the silver at SC.

Knowing about the first shoulder injury, I kept watching and watching, hoping nothing would happen and yet also being amazed that nothing did happen. I hope it heals.

I think all the contortions "required" by CoP, plus very complex lifts, are causing way too many injuries.
Skaters have always been injuring themselves, but had there ever been so many injuries in Ice Dance?
