An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”
"I guess I'm just...I'm not used to someone putting me first." -Emma, Once Upon a Time, episode 2x3, Lady of the Lake
Maybe Jessica can skate with Cody Hay he's looking for a partner.
Sorry for Bryce. That sounds awful, and I hope he recovers quickly!
As for Jessica...3 cheers for her! I hope she has a successful season!
Holy crap this is a shock to the pairs system.
I hope Bryce can recover well and keep active in some way with the injury.
I'm now looking forward to see what Jessica can do in singles
While Jessica can land the jumps, she isn't a strong (or consistent) jumper. I could see her making the top 10, but with the looks of how Amelie Lacoste, Cynthia Phaneuf and Myriane Samson are able to skate, and if Joannie comes back, I highly doubt Jessica will make the world team.
Me three.
Ouch, that’s extensive. His surgery on Oct. 26 entailed opening up his knee and quadriceps muscles to find the chip and then re-attaching it with a bone graft, a procedure that left a 10-inch scar that runs vertically from his lower thigh to the top of his shin.Poor guy, he’s going to be miserable being laid up for so long. Best wishes to him for a full recovery. And good for Jess to keep herself busy in the meantime. It'll be nice to see her skate again, but a bit sad to see her skating alone.

Jessica can skate with Scott Moir while their partners heal! But which discipline? Can he jump? Can she dance? Inquring minds want to know!
"You can get so much of good thing, you can linger too long in your dreams, say good-bye to the oldies but goodies, 'cause the good ole days weren't always good, and tomorrow isn't as bad as it seems" Billy Joel (as quoted by BigBadBob)
i remember her and duhamel both sakting pairs AND singles-
above
I too remeber that she withdrew ( jessica) after the short program and I thought it was odd- why even DO both then pull at the last miinute- i mean the schedule is known months in advance?
Good idea!
according to her facebook page yes they are![]()
From wikipedia:

2003 - 2004: 2nd (Junior Ladies)
2002 - 2003: 5th (Junior Ladies)
2001 - 2002: 2nd (Junior Ladies)
Jessica also collected two bronze medals in the 03/04 and 04/05 seasons on the Junior Grand Prix circuit.
I really hope Skate Canada is able to let Jessica compete at Canadian Nationals.
I'm off to the Patrick Chan threads...where you can watch a molehill become a mountain in seconds!!!
Didn't Dube stop competing in singles after Skate Canada said they would punish skaters who only competed in the SP, since it was unfair to take a spot from someone who planned to complete the competition?
"This, after all, is opera, opera in New York, not some dainty pastime like professional hockey..." -- Chip Brown, NYT Magazine 24 Mar 13
He couldnt jump, she couldnt dance
They could skate together maby only in shows
For me its look werid - she wasnt strong jumpre before and could spend this year for some privite sings.
And did Cody Hay find a new patner? I think Redford to tall fro Duhemel and she could skate with Hay and Jessica - with Eric.
Hope Bryce will have full recover. Really sad for him![]()
Oh no![]()
So sad for Bryce. I hope he has a complete recovery. I think Jessica competing in singles is a good way of keeping her active. Good luck to them both!

Scott doesn't have the build to do pairs; he's way too short! I think I saw him doing a double (maybe triple?) jump during practice for 2010 Worlds Ex on YouTube. I'm not sure whether Jessica does dance though; aren't the skills involved very different from pairs?
D/D have had such rotten luck with injuries.Best of luck to both of them and may Bryce get well soon!
Ouch! Here's hoping Bryce heals quickly and is back on the ice with Jessica ASAP.
On the other hand, we now have an explanation for the PCS for the Canadian pairs at Skate Canada.![]()
To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.
