    "Be Good Johnny Weir" returns on Logo network in 2011

    "BE GOOD JOHNNY WEIR"

    SEASON 1 (9 episodes total – 7 x 30 minutes; 1 x 60 minutes; 1 90-minute documentary) Premieres Winter 2011 [ETA: Originally aired on Sundance]

    SEASON 2 (10 episodes – 30 minutes) Premieres Summer 2011 [ETA: These will be NEW episodes]

    Logo has acquired the first season of the series and will produce new episodes for an exclusive second season.
    ...
    The new season will dive deeper into Johnny's work and personal life as he balances his skating with his growing ambitions in the entertainment business.

    booo! So sad it moved from Bravo (I don't want to watch on my computer. My computer is tiny.)

    It's like when all the skating goes to Universal Sports so I can't see it (although, at least this does have an online option...)

    Good news for him.Logo TV get much more people to watch than Sundance.

    But what they say to describe the show make me a little uncomfortable,a docusoup show... I know a reality show can't be all true,but this describtion sounds like they will write a weird script to get attention.Hope they won't make Johnny a totally nerd

    I watch Sundance Channel a lot. Lots of good foreign/subtitled films. I wonder why Sundance didn't pick up the second season option for BGJW. I thought it did well in the ratings.

    IIRC, it was in the bottom quarter of Sundance ratings and not improving. Also, the producers may have wanted more than Sundance was willing to pay.

    Not really new fodder - except for what Logo produces (and we don't know that is yet) these are all repeats and other shows, as you've cited, don't tend to cover repeats. Since Johnny's show is time-specific (relating to certain competitions certain years), it's going to be new news to some people but old news to anyone who followed the series on Sundance.

    Ah, shoot. I didn't read past "Premieres Winter 2011". Logo's and my definitions of "premieres" are not quite the same.

    Sundance Channel is subscription-based so they don't have commercials or ratings. Obviously the show was successful and splashy enough for the network to approve a season-ending double episode special.

    The fact that LOGO has paid for the right to re-air Season 1 of BGJW before Season 2 proves that the new network recognizes the strength of the show.

    Sundance subscription based? Not where I live. It's just part of the basic cable service and yes, they definitely know who's watching which of their shows.

    It's part of my basic (cheapest) cable service too. And there were definetly commericals- tons of them...

    I don't know Logo and I was interested in this channel (I already watch Sundance) that is bigger than Sundance where I like the varied and interesting programming. Now I understand Logo's targeted demographic. Logo describes itself as "The LGBT world has a place all its own with Logo, the new lesbian & gay network from MTV Networks. Whether it's on TV, online, or on your mobile, Logo brings you the stories, shows and news you won't see anywhere else. From original series and films to groundbreaking documentaries to LGBT news and more." From MTV it would be big.
