Cappellini-Lanotte leaving Zazoui and returning in Italy

Today the national sports newspaper (Gazzetta dello Sport. 5-11.2010) reported that Anna Cappellini and Luca Lanotte left Muriel Zazoui and came back to Milan where they are training with Paola Mezzadri, apparently due to unsatisfying results (but no further explication is given) had with Muriel ever since last season.

They will change their free dance and, in order to prepare it, the're going to withdraw from Skate America.

I am not surprised after NHK. Hopefully it all works out!

I hope the Georgian team replaces them at Skate America...they train in the US.

It's a shame that the relationship with Muriel and Roman didn't work out.

They should probably move abroad to some decent coach.

FD was a big mistake, I am glad they are changing it.

I can certainly understand how discouraging it must be for them to fall in the rankings, so I'm not terribly surprised by the move. I really like C&L, so I hope this works out for them.

Heard the rumor that they are talking to Spilbandt, but may be for the next season?

Well I think this is good. Things were not working for them. And I'm glad they are changing the FD. Good luck to them!

I think this is a right decision for them. I don't know the details of their work with Zazoui (has she tried to change their technique?), but obviously they've been regressing since they moved to Lyon. I hope things work out well for them and they find the right coach. They are still very young and have a lot of time before Sochi to work on their technique issues.

This is a bit disappointing, but I guess I can't blame them.

I was actually looking forward to seeing that FD again clean.

    if they go to Shpilband.

The FD certainly wasn´t working for them so I guess it was the moment to decide changing it and try to correct their situation this season, but changing coaches is more a surprise, considering we´re just starting the season. Anyway I wish them luck, they´re young and talented.

AFAIR, aren't Meryl and Anna friendly? Detroit might work out well for C/L. It's good to have friends in the area you move to.

Doesn't have to be Shpilband, though.

Will any team replace them at SA, or is it too late?

I don't like too many change of coach. But I guess that it's for the best since it seems it didn't work with Zazoui...

I wonder what went wrong and why the relationship with coaches as awesome as Zazoui and Hagenauer didn't work out.

"Requiem for a Dream" was their first mature FD so at least that worked right.

Muriel wasn't reallly working for C/P, I think they need some fresh programs, they are so young and mature at the same time.

I really hope they don't go to Canton camp. There are way to many top teams there.

I sort of felt it coming...I wasn't a fan of their RFAD free dance, they seemed quite uncomfortable with Melody Gardot...hope they'll sort all thing out and improve just for Euros and Worlds!
shame that it means less porny Romain on TV ...

how many more pairs Z and S could embrace? V/M, D/W, Sam/Bates, Khohk/A, Shibs, Chock/Zuerlein, Tobias/Stagniunas plus some less known couples - quite crowdy over there!

It would be idiotic to go to Z&S considering how many teams they are coaching already. They wouldn't have enough time for them.

Agreed. They would not get the attention they need.

Well, I'm not surprised to hear this at all - I can only say - THANK GOD!!! I hope they ditch that lame SD as well. I said they needed a coaching change and I'm glad they agreed with me.

Whether these coaches are just for this season or permanent - I hope things work out for them. And I'm really looking forward to seeing their new programs.

to them for having the courage to make the change.

BTW - The pbp thread said F/S are no longer coached by Krylova/Camerlengo? If that's true, C/L might consider them as a less crowded alternative to S/Z. They worked wonders for F/S - huge improvement in their skating.

Haven't F/S been with Linichuk for about a year? On US Tanith commented that she trained with them all last year, and then gushed about how wonderful there were and how hard it was for Federica to skate with a hernia, but she kept on.

I'm totally out of the loop on this - in fact, I could have sworn I saw Camerlengo in the KnC with them - at least at some comps [I cant remember Olympics]. Do you know why they left - I thought they were doing really well with them.
