I love his work -- not just Fiddler, but also She Loves Me and Fiorello. R.I.P.

I love Fiddler on the Roof. I wish it was overused instead of Carmen and stupid tangos.

Aw ... that's sad. IMHO, Fiddler is one of the greatest Broadway musicals of all times.

May his memory be for a blessing.

RIP Mr. Bock, and thanks for the memories!

Love Mr. Bock's music, 60's big Broadway was just

I was also probably the world's skinniest gentile Tevye in high school theatrical history, but what a fantastic show.

RIP Jerry Bock. May your memory be a blessing.
And my two favourite stanzas from “Rich Man”

If I were rich, I'd have the time that I lack
To sit in the synagogue and pray.
And maybe have a seat by the Eastern wall.
And I'd discuss the holy books with the learned men, several hours every day.
That would be the sweetest thing of all.
    . . .
For the devout Jew, this really would be the “sweetest thing.”
Lord who made the lion and the lamb,
You decreed I should be what I am.
Would it spoil some vast eternal plan?
If I were a wealthy man.
This verse and, actually, the entire song, demonstrates the questioning type of dialogue Jews have have with G-d.
    Great stuff, Jerry.

Aww you lucky duck, I've always wanted to play Tevye as well. My high school was a little too...mmm...intolerant to do 'Fiddler', sadly. Guess I'll have to wait another 25 years to play him, even though I'd never get picked in an adult production since I'm also a skinny gentile

    RIP Jerry, and Akiko!
