I love his work -- not just Fiddler, but also She Loves Me and Fiorello. R.I.P.

Aw ... that's sad. IMHO, Fiddler is one of the greatest Broadway musicals of all times.
May his memory be for a blessing.
Love the movie/musical.
Hopefully Akiko skates well tomorrow in her FS to honor him!
He will always be remembered by everyone who loves Musical Theatre.
Thanks for the music. R.I.P.
I love me some Fiddler on the Roof!

RIP Mr. Bock, and thanks for the memories!

Love Mr. Bock's music, 60's big Broadway was just
I was also probably the world's skinniest gentile Tevye in high school theatrical history, but what a fantastic show.
RIP Jerry Bock. May your memory be a blessing.
And my two favourite stanzas from “Rich Man”
For the devout Jew, this really would be the “sweetest thing.”If I were rich, I'd have the time that I lack
To sit in the synagogue and pray.
And maybe have a seat by the Eastern wall.
And I'd discuss the holy books with the learned men, several hours every day.
That would be the sweetest thing of all.
. . .
This verse and, actually, the entire song, demonstrates the questioning type of dialogue Jews have have with G-d.Lord who made the lion and the lamb,
You decreed I should be what I am.
Would it spoil some vast eternal plan?
If I were a wealthy man.
Great stuff, Jerry.
