RIP Mr. Cunningham. So many great memories of a wonderful character actor! So many kids wanted a Dad like that and the way he loved his kids always reminded me of my own Dad. I think I enjoyed the scenes between him and Marion Ross trying to be all romantic were just so much fun!

OH HOWARD!! (with silly giggling in the background)

Mr. Cunningham and Mrs. Cleaver in the same week! Who's next?? It breaks my heart, but at least both had long lives.

Tom Bosley has a small role in the documentary Paper Clips that always makes me cry. It is about rural students in Tennessee learning about the Holocaust. He had relatives murdered in the concentration camps.

That's exactly what went through my head when I saw the thread title a couple of minutes ago.

Loved him as Mr. C *and* Father Dowling. Wonder if Pat Morita was one of the first to meet him up there when he arrived.

Rest in Peace Sir and thank you for the memories!!

You're right -- I can't believe that slipped my mind. I've even got the cast album.

This news reminded me of a documentary I saw a few years ago on HBO (I forget the name of it). A group of kids at a rural Tennessee school undertook a diversity project where they sought to collect paper clips in the millions to represent the millions of lives lost in the Holocaust. Tom Bosley was featured briefly in this documentary as a celebrity that recieved a letter from the kids, and wrote them back with his donation. It resonated with me to this very day.

Tom Bosley was well known for playing a Catholic priest, and numerous Protestants, but was actually Jewish, so farewell great actor:
