Simon MacCorkindale & Barbara Billingsley die

Both Barbara Billingsley, 94, and Simon MacCorkinDale, 58, pass away today.

Barbara was June Cleaver on 'Leave It To Beaver'.

Simon was on 'Falcon Crest' and also had his own series on NBC called 'Manimal'. I had the biggest crush on him when he was on TV.

    ------

ETA: Oops, there's already a thread for Mrs. Billingsley, so maybe we can make this thread just for Simon.

Her "I speak jive" scene on Airplane was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on film.

Simon will always be Simon Doyle from Agatha Christie's Murder on the Nile to me. Horrible way to die.

Also, there was his 'I, Claudius' stint - he looked mighty fine in a toga.

I remember him, too. One handsome man. He's was only a few years older than me. It is so weird to start having people pass away in our age group. I remember my dad talking about the frequency when he was my age.............we all think we are immortal.

Forget about "Leave it to Beaver". Billingsly's best work was "I speak Jive" on "Airplane"
