but she did live a long happy life and she was a great example of a "late bloomer" in her acting career.

How sad that she's gone. Maybe she'll meet her own Leo at the top of the staircase.

Late bloomers rule! Even though I didn't care for the movie, I think it's nice she had that success. R.I.P.

I always wished it would have been 'old' Rose meeting up with young Jack at the top of the staircase hee hee.

And being a fan of the movie when it came out (during my 'I Love Leo' phase) I have to say that it's kind of a 'life imitating art' situation that Jack told Rose that she would die at 100, warm in her bed, which seems to be what happened to Gloria.

My condolences to her loved ones.

She sounds like a fascinating person - someone who got work in her youth but didn't turn out to be a big name so she walked away, only to end up in one of the most iconic films of all time. RIP Ms Stuart, you earned it

I was really hoping I wouldn't be seeing this anytime soon But I'm glad she lived a long, happy life and found such success later.

    RIP, Ms. Stuart.

I watched her early movies as a child in the 60's, and enjoyed them.
I loved that "late-blooming", as well; and thought she was "robbed" of the Academy Award for "Titanic".
With all due respect, she made the movie!

Bless her! She will be remembered.

I read Gloria Stuart's autobiography, "I Just Kept Hoping," while recovering from my hysterectomy several years ago. That book lifted my spirits at a very sad time and helped me see that there was still so much to look forward to in my life, even without children. Gloria truly experienced the world and lived fully in a way few people do - much like the character of Rose. She was so right for that role. I agree that she was robbed of the Academy Award.

I had that same thought! It's very fitting I think, and I'm glad that she got to live such a long, full life. May she rest in peace.
