If we're talking about senior worlds, yes.

But, at junior worlds in 1976, Peter and Liz Cain won bronze at the innaugural event in 1976.

Also, Michael Pasfield has won the compulsory figures silver at junior worlds (I think it was '77 or '78), and Stephanie Zhang won silver in the short program (in 2002).

Michelle Kwan medaled at every event she skated in between 1996 until her 4th place at worlds in 2005 which was her last event. She also did not place lower than 2nd at any event between 1996-2001.

Not sure if Rudy qualifies, since he was at Worlds as a pairs skater before winning the bronze in the singles event.

I think Evan Lysacek's first Worlds was in 2005, when he won Bronze.

From memory, I think Yagudin won bronze in 1997 as well.

Kwan won Skate America 7 out of the 9 times she competed there. She also won 6 consecutive GP titles from 95-96 (Skate America 95, Skate Canada 95, Nations Cup 95, Champions Series Final 95/96, Skate America 96, Trophee Lalique 96).

Plushy has probably many gold streaks to count! From 2002-2006 he lost the gold only 2 times i think.
Most impressive from his debut senior 1998 till 2006, he got one time off podium!(worlds 2000 )

Irina Rodnina with both partners never placed lower than 1st in any portion of any international competition from the 1971 Worlds LP right through to the 1980 Olympic LP. THAT is amazing! What's more amazing is that other than the 1971 Worlds SP where she placed 2nd due to Ulanov botching his sbs 2t, and 1968 Euros; her first major international where she was only 5th, I can't think of any other instance where she finished behind anybody.

add Gordeeva and Grinkov to the list of medalist at first time senior worlds.
I'm sure Katarina Witt has many streaks that still go on...
Shen and Zhao won every phase of a competition they entered from 2006 gp till the lp of the Vancouver Olympics in 2010!! hehe

I'm not sure how this got from streaks to skaters who won medals on their first trip to senior Worlds, but you can add Angelika Krylova & Vladimir Fedorov (RUS). They won bronze in ice dance on their first trip to Worlds in 1993.

Except for 2004 Worlds, Sasha Cohen has fallen at every Worlds and Olympics she has entered into.

    Streaks? Did You Say Streaks?

    Júlia Sebestyén
went for streaks late in her career. She ought to be known as "Glammy Hair."

Anastasia Gimazedinova was a skater given to streaks.

Jeffrey Buttle tended to have more streaks as the season went on, but usually gave in to the blond side by the time Worlds rolled around.

I'm not sure, but I think Joannie Rochette is just naturally streaky.

I was. But kudos to all the medalists, anyway. And betting that Joubert and Lepistö will have some more medals 2010-11.

I did too. I was getting flashbacks to Tanith's stripes in Torino!
