    Exhibition Program Pairings

Who would you pair up for an exhibition program? (skaters that train at the same rink) I would like to see Alissa and Jeremy skate together!

and why do they have to train at the same rink? that limits our imagination a lot

in that case, how about Tessa Virtue and Fedor Andreev?

but really, this whole Tessa-Charlie thing DFJ mentioned could be interesting, I mean, as much as I love Charlie with Meryl, I'd like to see Tessa skate with someone who's not as much a shadow of her as Scott. Could be interesting to see her with someone of the on-ice personality of Charlie

OK, so not quite what you had in mind, but SOI paired up Alissa and Jeremy a couple of times in this group skate:

(bonus- Meryl doing worm if you watch long enough)

But I do agree with mia joy- some of the more imaginative pairings are fun!

I've been hoping something like this might happen in the future!

Also, Meryl Davis and Jeremy Abbott. It'd be adorable.

At the 1992 Olympics, Paul Wylie and Nancy Kerrigan did an exhibition program together. At the 1994 Olympics, Oksna Bayul and Viktor Petrenko skated together at the gala.

If I'm correct, Philippe Candeloro and Surya Bonaly skated a pair program at a gala (in Japan?) and did SBS backflip.

Brandon Mroz and Alexe Gilles would be like this.

I nominate Evan Lysacek and Carolina Kostner for tallest skinniest pair.

How about Oda and Akiko Suzuki? They both kind of have that 'cute' aura going on.

They are about the same height, Oda would need someone shorter like Kanako or Yukiko, who are cute but also tiny.

Interesting but I've always found Scott to have a very strong passionate on ice personality (maybe I'm misunderstanding you). In the beginning Scott (IMO) was the stronger of the two when it came to emoting. Even now as good as Tessa has become Scott can still command attention, especially in the more dramatic pieces.

Absolutely. He's always been a very expressive skater, and it took Tessa a while to catch up. Now, they've become more evenly matched. Here is Scott being:

    Intense and aggressive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5x6wcG5HCc
    Playful, charming : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0lGu9APQIY
    Tender: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBVli-xfJK0
Goofy, with an OTT sense of humour: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXXVXxfKbLQ

well, not my attention. I know that most people feel the opposite, but everything I see when watching them is Tessa. And whenever Scott is, as you say, passionate, agressive or goofy, for me it just seems like he's trying to do so, but it's kind of not natural for him. And I don't mean emotion, what I mean is, Scott doesn't have that something about him, that would make me wanna skip watching Tessa for a while to actually focus on him. Charlie does. And that's the on ice personality I was talking about.

Yes, I'd love to see that too! At SOI this year it was good to see a fours group again.

    Mao Asada and Takahiko Kozuka.
Taka once said he wanted to try some ice dancing for fun and he wanted to dance with Mao!
Now that it is decided they will share the same coach and the same training ice rinks (Nagoya and Yokohama), we may be going to see Asada/Kozuka dance team at an exhibition.
Probably at Worlds 2011 in Tokyo?
