    Skating on TV in Canada

Can't find anything on the Skate Canada or CBC sites yet but the following was reported in the latest edition of IFS

    NHK Oct 23 4-6pm and Oct 24 2-4pm

    SC Oct 29 2-4pm and 12midnight-1am
    Oct 30 2-6pm
    Oct 31 3-4pm and 9-10pm

    CoC Nov 6 1-3pm

    SA Nov 13 2-6pm
    Nov 14 2-4pm

IFS described them as "confirmed" listings. I think it's safe to think we'll also get coverage of Rostelecom, TEB and the GPF. I'm hoping we'll also get full coverage of SC, Canadians and Worlds on Bold as we've had in previous years, but nothing on the website yet.

    Yay CBC

I emailed PJ as to whether there would any BOLD coverage and she answered that she was hopeful as she'd not heard that there wouldn't be any.

But I'd be thrilled to get the coverage you listed Alilou - however, how can IFS know if CBC hasn't announced or scheduled it?

BOLD has also showed 4CC for the last two seasons. I hope that trend continues!

Also, expect TVJapan to air NHK and Evasion to air the Grand Prix events.

A digital box was $100 when I got it a few years ago and is probably cheaper now. And one digital channel is $1.50.- and for some of the competitions that gives you full coverage of the entire competition.

I'm climbing out the window and onto the roof to move the aerial to get CBC to come in clear.

Do note that the skating should be shown online on either cbc.ca or skatebuzz. For Canadians only.

With our supplier, we had to purchase a package of channels to get BOLD. I'm not sure how much it is but I think it is around $5 per month or so...

Costs is irrevelant to me, as it is worth every penny to get full coverage of the entire competition. BOLD has revolutionized my TV skating viewing. Watching it on our 42 inch screen TV is *almost* as good as being there in person. *Almost* but not quite...
I'm not spoiled...I deserve all my stuff.

There's a schedule for their online coverage, but since I don't watch skating online, I don't care enough to post it.

I also note that there's nothing about 4CC. I hope it's last minute, like last season.

Also, we should get some coverage on Evasion.

Thanks, lots of coverage on the main network! But I do get BOLD (included in one of my packages with Bell Express Vu).

Thanks a lot manhn. Very curious that the web stream and CBC tv have LIVE coverage of Skate Canada at 1 pm on Saturday Oct 30 but that time is missing from the bold schedule. I know you are not interested in watching on the web, but looks like it might be necessary to at least peruse the schedule to see if there might be some listings missing by accident, I hope, from bold scheduling at present.

If you have a digital cable package you can probably sign up for TV-Japan for just the few days of NHK. In Vancouver it's channel 195 and you just phone Shaw and they connect it on the spot.

TV Japan coverage - all times Pacific (since that's where I live)
    Fri22 3.30pm-4.45pm Ladies short
Sat23 11.35am-1.50pm Mens short and ladies free
Sun24 11.35am-1.50pm Mens Free and Gala.

I emailed them asking just this question about a week ago but I haven't received an answer yet.

    NHK on CBC

    All times pacific
    Saturday 1-3pm
Sunday - according to CBC website (traditionally unreliable) 1-3pm will be "Steven&Chris", however.....
zap2it has CBC showing NHK 1-2pm on Sunday, and my just delivered TV Guide (usually quite reliable) has CBC showing NHK 1-3pm on Sunday.

So if you're recording set your PVR's or whatever for 2 hrs on Sunday cos I think that's what we'll get.

So is there really no live streaming? We should've heard by now if there was...
