She withdrew. I was looking forward to seeing her programs next week.

You don't have Kanako Murakami among the choices. I'd argue she's one of the favorites for the title.

She withdrew as well. She would have been the clear favorite.

I didn't know that. Do you know the reason?

According to the information of Japan Skating Federation (JSF), Kanako Murakami and Cathy & Chris Reed got not to participate to Nebelhorn Trophy.
The reason for not participating has not been announced especially yet.

    The skating information of JSF.

You made me blink with Katharina Hacker. I had to go hit Google to figure out that Katrina Hacker hadn't made a comeback.

Sarah Hecken has a good shot at medaling or even winning this event if she skates like she did at Worlds!

Häcker's been around a long time - she was natl. champ back in 2002 - but she always gets the lesser comps, like Triglav Trophy and Coupe de Nice.

This is an article in “Sankei Sports” in Japan.
    Translated from Japanese.
Kanako Murakami gave up participating to Neblhorn Trophy.
    September 22nd, 2010 JST

It was found that Kanako Murakami gave up participating to Neblhorn Trophy (in Oberstdorf, Germany) which she had scheduled to participate as her debut match of senior international competition and which is opened in September 23rd.
According to the person concerned, the reason not to be able to participate is because the skates had happened to break and the newly-made skates don't serve yet the purpose.
Murakami plans to participate to the senior of the Chubu Figure Skating Championship which is the domestic area competition in Japan and which starts on October 1st.

    The article:
Kanako Murakami gave up participating to Neblhorn Trophy.

Cathy & Chris Reed planned to participate to Nebelhorn Trophy, but because Kathy had happened to suffer the light knee trouble, they gave up participating for being on the safe side.

Congrats to Cloudy Gumdrops, DORISPULASKI, Kati, MysticHaze, RFOS, and Sk8Kate who correctly guessed all 3 medalists.
