Good for Tomás. Now if we could just free Kostner, Kovalevski, and Tischendorf...

Yay for Tomas! He is such a cutie patootie... oh and a really talented skater too. I hope this works out for him and he realizes his potential!

Yay, I was afraid he would go back to Huth, but this is so good to hear! I hope he can skate up to his potential this season because if he can he will be tough to beat, especially with no Evan, Plushy, or Johnny around. So excited for his new programs too, they seem perfect for him .

yup, free Kovalevski...sigh....though would it make a difference. before Huth: great jumps, dull programs, with Huth: no jumps, interesting programs... I have a soft spot for Anton! so hard.

otoh: Go Tomas!! I wish him all the best for the upcoming season!

well there was a press conference today, and this is what I gathered

"it doesn't matter if you love what you do, but that you do what you love"
a quote Tomas Verner () gave me to think about...

He sounds very optimistic, which is great! I really hope he has a good season, he is definitely capable of winning a world medal before he retires with all his talent.

But I agree, fab pictures, especially the flying ones. He probably has the most beautiful flying sitspin among the current ones.

Good for him. Emerson sounds like a good fit! And, choreographers nearby as well!

You know this whole situation Tomas is going through now reminds me a lot of what Miki Ando did back in 06. OK grand prix season leading to a poor nationals and disasterous Olympics, didn't compete at Worlds, then switched coaches the following season and made a huge comeback ending with her winning the world title in 07! If Tomas could make a similar comeback, that would be awesome!

Perhaps an Admin could change thread title to indicate that Verner has indeed made a decision and swapped coaches to Emerson?

Good for him to make some changes!
saying that he nearly never smiled in the end of the last season. He has always been so funny and positive, great that he is getting it back. Looking forward to Camerlengo´s choreographies!

And the switch to Emerson makes me very happy. Now maybe he will get really fit with off ice training, and develop the stamina to do many many full run-throughs, so he can have a little confidence when competing.

I really don't get the "only training the program in bits" thing. If you don't do it (many times) in practice how do you ever get to know you can do it in competition?
