Manleywoman SkateCast: new site and episode!

Hi everyone. So sorry to you fans who have had to wait for new episodes while I got the website redone.

It's finished, and it's MUCH more user-friendly, both for users and for me, the lone admin. So now you can see all past episodes at once, plus listen from the site (and not need to have Quicktime ) as well as subscribe several different ways. I hope you'll all participate by leaving comments, sending me information about figures for the figures page, and just spreading the word.

And oh yes . . . Part 1 of Episode 41: Ice Capades is now up. It's soooo fun. I was invited to the 70th Reunion of Ice Capades in Las Vegas in June, and I had a magnificent time chatting with so many members, both famous and not famous, and also from the 1940s up to the 1990s. You'll learn a LOT about not only Ice Capades but how the ice shows operate. It's a blast.

Part 2 will be up by next week, and then I've got George Spiteri (of SPTeri boots) and Barbara Ann Scott on deck.

    Thanks for all your patience!

Yes, WordPress. Sooooooo much better than what I had. I'm still learning about how a lot of it works, and I still want to change the design of the masthead a bit, but it's a far superior back-end.

Part II of the Ice Capades episode went up today.

Interviews with: coach Alex McGowan (who has many good Debi Thomas, Nicole Bobek, and Kimmie Meissner stories), Randy Gardner (who is the first person to curse on my podcast ), Sarah Kawahara, and a lot of other Ice Capades folks.

    Hope you all enjoy.

I'm listening to Part I now. I love how you've identified the interviewees on the podcast name bar as they are speaking

I listened to Part 2, and Alex McGowan is a scream.

Isn't he? That's a whole podcast in itself. I'll have to get him for one.

FYI to everyone: I'm going to start doing giveaways on the site. I will have monthly prizes, and so far I've gotten some amazing things to give away each month: a timeshare in Salt Lake City, Utah , and a free pair of SP-Teri boots! Details to follow on both of those. Thanks

I listened earlier to the interview with Rory Flack and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't know that Rory had worked with Robin Cousins, Frank Carroll and John Nicks.

It was a treat and I'm looking forward to listening to several more of the podcasts. It sounds exciting about your giveaways!
