    Shana Tovah!

This coming Wednesday Jews around the world are going to celebrate the 5771 year in the Jewish calendar.
I would like to wish to all who celebrate this holiday a Happy New Year (Rosh Hashana),
Gmar Hatima Tovah u-LeShana Tovah Tikatevu (May you be sealed in the Book of Life)!

Happy Jewish New Year Eden! My kids will be learning about it tomorrow - any really easy recipe we could make as a snack?

Apples dipped in honey is the easiest and the most common thing we do on Rosh HaShana.
It is done in order to wish everybody a Sweet New Year!

I'm looking forward to apples dipped in honey today! Do I need to warm the honey to make it more dippable?

We're learning to make jiao zi (Chinese dumplings) today as well, so it's a very multicultural Wednesday!

I was invited to synagogue for Rosh Hashana - that would be tonight right?

You don't have to warm up the honey, unless you like it this way.
Rosh HaShana begins tomorrow evening with a sunset.
Enjoy your sweet Wed. just be careful that bees won't come to celebrate too.
We are off tomorrow for the rest of the week because of the holiday.

I did nice projects with my first graders today. It included first efforts of Hebrew writings. Some of the kids wrote it backwards as if it was English. LOL.
