Chinese New Year falls early February this year, so 4CCs is a little too late to fit in with the official holidays. I was going to come from Beijing, but the timing doesn't suit. I'm going to see if I can still come, but with holidays for Chinese New Year already set, it is highly unlikely I will be able to take another break so soon after.

Actually Taipei City is probably one of the LEAST festive part of Taiwan comes Chinese New Year. Main reason being a lot of the residents are from out of town and they flock back home to other parts of Taiwan for the New Years. However like Angelskates said, 4CC is two weeks after CNY, and Taipei City gets back to the routine very quickly so there probably won't be a lot of festivities. Flora expo though is a must see!

I've heard that the US 4CC skaters/alternates won't have to be determined before the start of Nationals like last year, thankfully!

The site is for 2010 so the dates will be different for 2011 because Lantern Festival is celebrated according to the Lunar calendar.

The actual day of the Lantern festival next year will be on Feb 17th (15th of the first month in Lunar calender) so the event will probably start the weekend before and go on for a few weeks. Just in time for the 4CC!

It will be the year of the Rabbits next year so expect to see a lot of bunny lanterns

Lantern Festival lasts about 10 days, so you should be able to see it during the week of 4CC. Taichung probably has one too. It is almost in every city.

The Organizing Committee has posted ticket collection instructions on the official website. Collection will start at 9:00 am on Feb 15. at the North entrance of the Taipei Arena.

I don't think it's unreasonable for the ISU to wait until all countries have held their national championships before submitting their Four Continents (or Europeans) entries. Germany was allowed to submit "TBA" for their 2011 Europeans entries, for example.

I called last week and the lady told me that if you reserved tickets then you can pick up at the window with your id and email address.
I live about one hour from Taipei so I don't go there often, but if anyone planning coming and needs info about transportation or lodging, I can try to help out, just pm me.

OC Tickets Counter Reminer: Spectators must present the receipt of Spectator Registration Form and personal identification ID (e.g. passport, Citizenship ID Card and etc.)
But I have not got any receipt, I just filled the form in and sent it from official site. I have not received confirmation from the organizers.

After I submitted my order form, a screen with "Submit Completed" on top came up (included the number of tickets ordered for each event). I printed this thinking it would serve as the receipt and I'm sure that's what they are referring to.
