Yes. He is ineligible as per the ISU. There was an announcement about it recently, so it is not rumor.

Haircut looks much better. Not much you can do with straight, fine hair anyway. I hope he skates well. Never been a fan, but at this point I do wish him well.

He could cut it short. I thought the short haircut he had pre-2001 looked a lot better than the power-mullet.

He was a tiny teen before 2001, so I am not sure it would still suit him well. I like the current haircut.

I just saw the video of his Nijinksy performance from a short time ago. I found it to be really special. Great charisma, big jumps, well done to the music...

There is a rule against competing in events not sanctioned by the ISU, which would cover all the old pro-style events like Ice Wars or World Pro Championships. There are hardly any of these events left. The only recent one I recall is the Thin Ice competition this past March. Competing in a pro competition is the only offense that prevents a skater from ever regaining eligibility. That would not apply to the Japan Open, though, because it is a pro-am event sanctioned by the ISU. I don't know of any other ISU events where "pros" (ineligible skaters) may participate.

I'm not saying it has to be the exact same cut. Just a short cut. I think mullets look ugly on anyone.

Me too! I've seen many guys with this euro mullet, including my Johnny. But you must have wavy or curly-ish hair for it to work, ala the sexy Cristiano Ronaldo.

As far as my feelings on this competition, I'll quote, Celestia (aka Anne Heche): "Aha wawa ahhhHa!"

It's not limited to competitions. There are others events that must be sanctioned, and I believe that is where Plushy went wrong.

Can you tell us more things about this? JO is a sanctioned event and it´s a competition for eligible ans ineligible skaters (that´s why Plushenko can compete). He should send a letter to ISU asking¨" do you allow me to skate in JO", or what should he do, because everybody is speculating that ISU might not like his participation to this event but nobody explains why.
