"This, after all, is opera, opera in New York, not some dainty pastime like professional hockey..." -- Chip Brown, NYT Magazine 24 Mar 13
He once again confirmed that he lands 4S and 4Loop in practice. But the most interesting part for me in the interview was not about him. The journalist asked him about 4axel. He said that he didn't even try to jump this difficult jump. But he said Artur Dmitriev Junior is pretty good at this element at practice. If Dmitriev Junior can jump 4A, I want to see it on youtube!!!!
By now somebody has posted his full interview in English, with the youtube video of his training.

It gets better...now he's apparently working with KURT BROWNING!
I'm not sure whether to be estatic, ridiculously impatient, absolutely terrified, or a mix of the three. One thing's for sure - these programs are going to be absolutely awesome! (I hope. There's still a tiny part of me terrified we're going to get another Tango Amore.)
Tapping my foot and waiting impatiently for March 9 (by the time anything comes out it'll be then in my country) to see the new stuff!
Is Plushy getting new programs for competitions or just for exhibitions?
I would like to see a video of a real 4A. There is a joke one on Youtube.
When I read about what Plushenko is doing it seems that the focus is on competition programs but obviously they could be used for exhibitions as well.
These are his competition programs for next season, I'm so glad that he's working on them so early. Just hope that they don't get over-used in shows before the competition season...like TA. Although the other part of me is getting desperate to see something other than TA or JSM. What happened to Mack the Knife?
TBH, I'm not sure that he actually meant Dimitriev Jr could do 4A. Maybe I'm just reading the translations wrong, but I thought he meant Jr could do such a strong 3A that the 4A was possible?
I can't see any reason why you'd leave a 4A out of competition tbqh, if you were landing it in practice. The points value would be incredible.
In the original Russian text he indeed said that Artur landed/performed (or it should be "used to land/perform") the 4A. Actually, my first thought was that maybe the journalist misunderstood something. 4A!!! Wow! And we have never heard/seen it before? It's not like you can keep such a huge success, even if it landed in practice, away from cameras for a long time. And yeah,.. 4A, is it even possible? On the other hand we all know that Artur and Plush was in one and the same Mishin's group, so probably Plush knows what he is talking about. Well, ... I think only Artur can clear things up....
Here, thanks to ForPlushy, the list of videos and interviews of his open training on Feb 28th, for now: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...86BFA2FF0BC79C with 4S there. Last time he landed it in competitions like 10 years ago? In 2001? Then he dumped that quad. And only a few months ago (was it in December?) he said in the TV interview with Dibrov that he was training the second quad. Of course someone can speaculate that he was secretly training 4S for all these 10 years, but just never put it in competitions. Or, which is more likely methinks, he resumed the serious training of 4S that he dumped 10 years ago and could reach the positive result within a few months.![]()
About coaches- true about Zhulin and Orshulyak, who used to work with Drobiazko/Vanagas; and Kurt, who he is going to work with in Italy and Spain.

I think this is the first time I've ever been sorta excited to see Plushenko's programs. I've said for years that he's needed new choreographers. I'm looking forward to see what Zhulin, Orshulyak, and Browning do.
Plush is invited to the launch of the spaceship "Soyuz" from the cosmodrome "Baikonur" on March 30th, together with other 21 VIPs. The launch is one of the events of the 50th anniversary of Gagarin's flight, that is going to be celebrated widely in Russia on April 12th. Among those 22 VIP only three people are sportsmen, all are winter-sportmen, two of them are figure skaters: Tretyak, Rodnina and PLUSH!!!!![]()

I'm sure someone somewhere will eventually land a nice 4A. It will be possible. There was a time when no one though women could do triples or men could do quads and they all proved them wrong.
There was a time when it was believed that women who jumped at all were jeopardizing their chances of every having children afterward.
Times change. Bodies change. Equipment changes.
Never say never.

Nubka - Unpaid Slave Laborer...
I found a book that my grandmother gave my mother. It was written at the beginning of the 20th century (1910's or 1920'), allegedly by a physician. In it there was paragraph after paragraph about how a woman's ovaries were attached by thin, delicate strings, and if she exerted herself, as in didn't sit around sighing in a chair, especially when she menstruated, the delicate strings would break, and she would no longer be able to have children.
Apparently he felt that evolution was class-based, because poor and working-class women were working and dancing and playing when the book was written and still managed to procreate.
