    More updates: http://twitter.com/LynnRutherford
Meryl & Charlie say the delicate, whimsical "Amelie" lets them show off a new side to their skating.
"We have power, speed; now we're really focusing on line, toe point, things that weren't necessarily our strength in the past" Meryl says.
ACzisny has two new programs this season, and that's not all: "My coaches [YSato&JDungjen] and I have entirely changed my jump technique."

If Alissa's new jump technique actually improves her consistency, I hope former coach JBerlin goes back to skating coach school to learn it.

If Yuka and Jason, in just a few short months, are really capable of completely reworking Alissa's technique that she spent a lifetime learning then perhaps mama Zhang should be giving them a call. I believe it when I see it, however.

Didn't we already hear 2 or 3 years ago aboutCzisny reworking her jump technique, or was that just the lutz? That was when Boitano became involved with her jumps.

That won't be necessary. I've never seen her in action, but I've read reports that Tammi is very good with jumping technique.

My favorite tweet from Lynn today:

EvoraLadwig developed a new lift for their Zorro short; it looks as if Amanda is floating, hands-free.
Their lifts make my heart happy.
An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

Evan quotes Igor imploring him and Emily to have more speed: "You're slow, and you're not moving very fast, and you're a senior-level team!"
SamBates goal: "Igor & Marina say, "You're tall and you're slow. By nationals, we want people to say, who are these speed demons?" says Evan
I have to say that I'm curious about what Igor & Marina will do with S&B.

No, she reworked it then too. Remember how wonky her 2a used to be? Her technique actually seemed to get significantly better, the problem was that her consistency didn't really improve with it.

I don't think I've ever seen Emily and Evan interviewed. Thanks for the link.

These are such happy pictures. Even Mirai looks happy with the boot on her foot. I think that is the first public photograph of Caroline in almost 7 months. ( The camera focused passed Caroline, onto the water. )

She looks all of sixteen in that pic. And Frank Carroll in jeans...whoa.

Meanwhile, Brian's got the 'cat that ate the canary' look in that pic of him on the phone. He seems quite unperturbed that there's a bunch of nutjobs looking to have his head on a pike.

I always thought she was short (because she was so tiny) but when I met her, she was quite a bit taller than me... (but I'm really short.)

That's really fantastic! It makes sense that some of the other sports athletes might be really really big... but that seems excessively big.
