Saw it tonight - and I absolutely loved it. I thought all of the actors performed well, and Natalie Portman deserves an Oscar for her performance.

I think, like most of the film, it's up to interpretation.

I'm more inclined to think that

Michiruwater's comment - I agree with what you said, but after reading what Meggonzo said, I am thinking the other way. One scene, but 2 perfect plausible interpretations.

I guess I just assumed some time had passed between the two scenes.

The one thing that my friends and I agreed on was that this didn't really happen. There obviously are a number of things we saw that didn't really happen. I'm pretty sure she didn't really sprout wings and feathers. As a result, it's hard to know which things really did happen.

As for this being about male sexual fantasy, I hadn't read any spoilers, so I was expecting for Nina to seduce the ballet director as he said a black swan was supposed to do. And, from his narration of the story, I thought Nina would sleep with him first, and then Mila's character would go after him. I guess I was thinking in terms of different male sexual fantasies.

Also, I thought that the bite was what did it and things would follow in that direction in order to keep the part or do what he thought was necessary to do it right.

Anyway, I'm not in the love it or hate it category, but I do think that Natalie Portman did a very good job.

How do you know that happened, either? Or, what Viet said. In some ways, I thought this movie was Inception lite. But, I don't believe that

I am going to see it...when the movie comes out on video. It looks interesting but not enough to see it in the theatre.

I was going to say the same thing. It reminded me of Gelsey Kirkland's autobiography.

I liked the concept of the movie but I found the character of Nina annoying. Too much cringing, apologizing, looking like a deer caught in the headlights. How did a girl like that climb to the top of the ballet world and get a principal role?

I would have liked it better if it had been more diva and less hapless victim.
