    D-Day piper dies at 88....

If you have ever seen the movie "The Longest Day" then you would surely remember the scenes with a piper playing on the beach while bullets flew past. Apparently it is indeed true. His unit commander was a Scottish aristocrat who asked him to play and he said "ok". And he did indeed play on that bridge as well. Some German soldiers after the war admitted that they did not shoot at him because they thought he was crazy. LOL One of many brave young men to whom we all owe a huge debt we can never repay. Bill Millin was 88 and survived by a son. May he rest in peace.

Today is also the Anniversary of the horribly thought out attack on Dieppe by the Canadian Forces. Seems...I can't put my finger on the right word, but "fitting" is as close as I can come that on the same day as an Anniversary of such a Major Event of WWII, this brave man passed over to join his fellow comrades.

Thank you for your Service and your Bravery Sir. May you rest in peace.
