One of my friends is this tatted up rocker guy who's totally into the hardcore metal scene, and yet he loves Neil Diamond. I understand eclectic tastes and all but that one threw me up for a loop when I found out.

If you like to snipe at Manilow, you should TOTALLY be hanging out at Dave's blog. He does it all the time and the regulars love it. (There are loud storms of protest every time he sneaks in a particularly egregious Manilow photo using a TinyURL link. )

    I honestly don't think anyone has anything against Manilow . . . it's just a running gag!

I wonder if his mom played Neil Diamond songs for him when he was little.

Sometimes it's not the music (or the actress ), it's the associations.

I know that tatooed rocker guy too and this is his story. He was rocked to sleep by Neil Diamond music.

You and snoopy are absolutely right. He told me that his mom was a big fan of Neil Diamond and he grew up with it around the house and never grew out of it.

And then sometimes the actress just happens to be fabulously talented.

She could have said it about just about anyone else and I don't think I would have gotten annoyed.

Unless it was Barbara Stanwyck. Then I'd travel to the UK so I could CUT HER .

I just Googled and Youtubed Pughtubed him. Does everyone on the Isle of Wight talk like that, or is he a special case?

No, Civic, not that I am aware of. This was totally out of left field. Or maybe not, since she is writing the script for the remake of MFL. Maybe a little controversy is good, eys?

That's a normal thing to encounter on a night out in Britain However, not generally from politicians, even local ones, especially when directed at someone else on the political scene. But on the Isle of Wight it somehow didn't surprise me at all

    Emma's latest comment on Audrey:

"It's the weirdest thing. Now I think she's the best actress who's ever lived. I just love, love, love everything she's done. She's great."

To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.

Haha, nice Emma. Audrey Hepburn was pretty, but her acting was nothing special to me. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy her movies. I like quite a few of them.
