Commentator suggests perhaps the timing is done for the benefit of tv broadcast and the audience rather than for the athletes' benefit (now where have I heard that before )

Looking at the medal ceremony, I'm wondering what are the little plaques that they are presenting the medallists with...

It was quite a feat for Rothlin to compete at all considering the health issues he's had.

No idea, but I read medals V design would include every medalist name, the competition they took part and their personal time or result. Quite personal.

France take 4x100 for men. What's up with a lot of the French guys being called Teddy and Jimmy lately?

I can't believe Ukraine won that. The French changes were awful though, maybe they should have trained that once or twice before the relay.

I thought so initially (and I hope is the case on athletes behalf , even if there are nice artisan pottery places close to Barcelona)
