The curse of Irish TV strikes again. They don't broadcast Worlds last year and Ireland win a medal in the 20km walk. This year they show Euros and 20 minutes into the race and Olive Loughnane pulls out. And now the commentators have to sound enthusiastic with zero Irish interest.

Russians go 1,2,3 in the women's 20 Km race walking. Olga Kanishkina adding european title to her 2 world gold medals and olympic title and she is just 25 years old. If she competes till the age Olympiada ivanova competed she could win couple more titles. other two russians are also young, this is further supplemented by a long list of very good juniors.

Drama in the 2nd heat of men's 800m.

The Dutch guy gets pushed a bit and he decides to take a shortcut across the field (a bit) instead of the track.

I'm mad to realize that my English is not good enough to try to explain it better.

More about that 800m and a photo that makes it look like Lathouwers used to play on the Dutch football team.

Jason Smyth really has only about 10% of his normal eyesight left? How can he even stay on his lane? Impressive!

I am seeing skaters everywhere. I am now convinced that French decathlete Barras is a lovechild of Ponsero, Baboo AND Preaubert.

And don't tell me you don't see the connection here

German TV can be sooo politically incorrect, it even shocks me. And I am not known for political correctness. They better shut up now...
