PETA: Free Paul the Psychic Octopus

Sigh. I knew they would jump on this bandwagon sooner or later...

Well, people were threatening to turn him into calamari....

Please don't turn this into another "let's all bash PETA" thread....

Shows how smart some of them are, Calamari is squid not octopus

I have no problem with PETA for the most part. They get a little extreme at times, but honestly, I don't know an activist group that doesn't at some point in time. I support a lot of their stances though, even if I do eat meat and occasionally wear leather.

Yes, let's set free an elderly, captive-born animal into the ocean. Sounds like PETA has his best interests in mind

I wish PETA were against the exploitation of women too, instead of proponents of it. Maybe then I could take them more seriously.

Well it would be better if the aquarium didn't put Mr. Octopus in captivity in the first place, don't you think? Now the aquarium will find another poor octopus to be captured to take Mr. Octo place. No, I'm not a member of PETA

Granted, Mr. Bob was a fairly small octopus when he was captured and could have been eaten by a number of things. The aquarium was probably a good place as any for a little octopus to grow big and strong.

Plus at least Mr. Bob was doing a public service, being on display in a science center. It's not like Paris Hilton kept him in her mansion.

I'd rather see an octopus picking sports heroes than being thrown onto the ice during hockey games! Not that either would likely be the choice an octopus would make!

Oh dear PETA. Making idiots of themselves again.
What the hell is a Ninja Twizzle? Does it have anything to do with hard shelled aquatic life forms that live in the sewer?

Since there's food inside both boxes, doesn't Paul just jump to the box that's closest to him? And after he finished dining on one box does he then get to eat what's inside the other box also?

Greek octopus salad is yum, yum good.
