I wonder how much money the organizer is milking out from the fans. lol Nothing wrong with it. Hell, if they have this show and cast in Canada, i'll go and see it.

Wow, its the first time Sasha and Shizuka skate together again since Torino??

Yeah. If only IMG could export this whole cast to Canada. My prediction is that they might add Stephane to the cast since he is Daisuke's choreographer. It would give them a good opportunity to work together again.

IIRC, Sasha and Shizuka skated together in Sendai (Shizuka's hometown) after Torino.

    Alexei Yagudin, Please!!!!!

He performed at Japan Open or Carnival on Ice every year except when he got appendix.
He skated/ will skate in Korea and China this year, and has been performing in Japan longer than 10 years, but did not have an opportunity to skate in Japan this year yet.
We Japanese are keen on seeing him skate live!

How many singles skaters are chosen for the event for each area..ie North America, Europe, Asia? Had I read somewhere in the past that it was only two men. two ladies? Did I misread this...Joannie, Sasha and Mirai?

Sasha is just invited to skate in the exhibition, I believe. Ditto for Shizuka.

Is there a reason why she never competed in these pro-am competitions? (I remember her skating at the last "ice wars" but that was it)

I'm always wondering why guest skaters skate in the competition.
Is it usual, or just for this event?

Now people are discussing if Plushenko needs to be replaced. If so how about Joubert?

That's strange. I think Japan Open is a pro-am competition, allowing up to one professional per team. Anyway, Joubert may be going to French Masters, Sept 30-Oct 2.

According to someone at Golden Skate, Mirai has withdrawn from Japan Open and will be replaced by Cynthia Phaneuf.
