To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.
Argentina-Germany looks so promising, two strong and offensive teams![]()
Zorry my english, I´m a verrrrrry rude spaÑish
Argentina-Germany should be amaze. Not sure who I want to win!
Sad for Mexico. They have quite a porny team.
They both deserve to be in the finals, toothat only of them will be able to do it.
I like Argentina, but this time if Germany plays as good as it played today, let it win the double, first ESC and now WC.![]()
Can't wait Spain/Portugal tomorrow. And indeed Brazi/Chile. My relations in Rio and BA are already nervous wrecks lol.
Germany/Argentina will be great. Both offensive teams. I think Argentina needs to watch for some sloppy play they've been having; and Germany needs to finish a bit better.
In other news...looks like Landon Donovan scored in more ways than one.![]()
Some fun stuff - as well as being very politically incorrect, the Irish World Cup shows end with a comedy sketch every evening called "Apres Match". They been going since the World Cup in France in 1998 and basically take the piss out of the Irish and British media coverage of the World Cup.
Here's one from last night:

I'd say Argentina is the favourite now and the young German team more or less the "black horse" of this coming match. Honestly, I'd have preferred Mexico as next opponent, otoh Germany normally plays stronger against the real big ones than against supposedly "weaker" teams. The boys will know what they have to do then and they will be concentrated right from the beginning.
Well, it's exactly the same situation as it was in 2006. Argentina even beat Mexico in the same phase of the competition.
I'm not a fan of Argentina's threatrical behavior, it's a bit too much for my taste. If they are the better team on Saturday, then they deserve to win but only in that case.
I hope Germany will go into the game as they did today and against Australia. That's some fantastic soccer they played.
I was a bit disappointed by Mexico today though. I thought they'd be stronger. Somehow they seemed stunned after that first goal and never really recovered.
Germany's certainly the underdog but Argentina isn't unbeatable. Should be interesting if both teams play at their best.
Aww, kid is so cute
This is one of my favs commercial, about the fever of celebrations started by Roger Milla

I was talking to my mother on the phone while she was watching the summary of the games, some of her comments where
"Oh look there's that ugly guy" (Mick Jagger) "and now that pretty one" (David Beckham) I had to guess who she meant.
"The english have some nice looking players. But wait, I don't know if I'm always watching the same one." Totally
The title of this thread is
I don't think Argentina vs Germany has a clear favorite, the germans play well under pressure and the coaches are instructing them well in terms of tactics, it could go either way really. Let's see what Paul has to say.![]()
Here is how Spanish language commentators calls a goal. I wish the English commentators could sound as like this.

"Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned / Nor hell a fury like a woman scorned."
Um, the first is Portuguese, and I think the second's Arabic.
I think the second one is Armenian, that looks like the sign of the Armenian TV
oppps... .. My badThey still sound better when calling those goals than the English commentators. LOL
