Touchdown Jesus Hit by Lightning, Burns to Ground

Since good ol' Touchdown Jesus (aka Butter Jesus and That Thing in Ohio) has been the source of much discussion here over the years, I thought some of you would enjoy this:

    The remains: http://www.wlwt.com/slideshow/news/23900652/detail.html

    Let us pray.
“In the hour of adversity, be not without hope; for crystal rain falls from black clouds.”.

I will bet anything they rebuild it, only it will probably be bigger, as they will probably get loads of donations. Maybe they will get the whole body this time, which was their initial plan.

I heard this around 7:30 this morning; two minutes later I heard the first joke. I'm up to about 15 of them already.

    That's quite ironic, isn't it?

Btw, isn't it proof that there's no God?

    Now, now, no hasty assumptions.

We have to see if it rises from the dead three days from now before we can make any conclusions.

Bob and Tom (morning DJs) think God was aiming for Larry Flynt's Hustler Club down the road and missed.

Oh my gosh, I saw that thing for the first time last November. I'm a Christian, and IT SCARED ME.

Who wants to bet it'll be rebuilt as quickly as possible?

My favorite "Touchdown Jesus" is on the Univ of Notre Dame campus. In the obvious field of vision of the football stadium...certainly not as....um...."rustic" as the lightning fodder, though.

    Both of these.

I have to admit, I laughed when I saw this on the Weather Channel this morning. My husband is now positive I'm headed to hell....there were doubts before this.
    Am I there yet?

I had never heard of this statue before so I had to look it up to see it before the strike.
