As predicted Cheltzie Lee has once again withdrawn from her National Championships.

Hopefully her knee will recover enough for 4CC in February so she can contest for selection from the Australian skaters to get to Worlds.

ISU Communication 1640 outlines the entries earned to all ISU Championships in 2011 (including 4CC and Worlds).

4CC
In this document, it states that Australia has up to 3 ladies entries to 4CC (4CC has open entries, up to 3 per nation per discipline). One of the three Australian ladies entries is a direct entry, which means that the skater does not need to skate in the preliminary round to qualify for the SP.

The one direct entry goes to the competitor ranked higher in the ISU World Standings (at the time of the entry) according to Rule 378, 7. in the 2010 Special Regulations and Technical Rules for Single &Pair Skating and Ice Dance.

Worlds
In this document, it states that Australia has one ladies entry to Worlds, and it is a direct entry (no preliminary round required).

So, if Cheltzie does compete at 4CCs, she should get the direct entry to the SP at 4CCs because she has the highest ranking in the ISU World Standings of any Australian lady.

If the AUS Fed is using 4CCs as their Worlds selection competition, the lady that finishes the highest at 4CCs would then be entered at Worlds and would have direct entry to the SP at Worlds.

All ladies entered for either 4CCs or Worlds need to have met the minimum technical score requirements outlined in Rule 378 and in the respective ISU communications.

Thanks Hisweirness, I can never find anything on the ISU website, who knows what communication is what. You can spend forever looking through those things trying to find what you need! lol

Hope Cheltzie gets well soon! From what I saw of her last season (4CC, Olympics, Worlds), she has boatloads of potential. If she can get some other jumps consistent she will definitely be a contender down the road.
