    More interestingly, perhaps, a few snippets of their new programs:

    Nelli Zhiganshina/Alexander Gazsi finally have their own official homepage: http://nelli-alex.de/de/index.html

    They also publish videos from their programs from Nebelhorn Trophy and Ondrej Nepela Trophy.

    We published an interview with Peter Liebers on our homepage. The interview was done at the Nebelhorn Trophy, where Peter finished third. The interview is available in German and in English.

    I hope somebody from ISU Technical Committee is going to clarify that asap.
    Here is how it is written in Rule 521 (in the 2010 Technical Rules).

    The program requirements for the pairs free skate include:
    maximum of 1 jump combination or sequence;
    Later in the rule, this is clarified by:
    Solo jumps, jump combinations and jump sequences
    The jump combination may consist of two (2) or three (3) jumps.
    All jumps executed with more than 2 revolutions (Double Axel and all triple and quadruple jumps) must be of different nature (different name), however the jump combination or sequence can include two same such jumps.
    The old (2008) rule just said:
    The jump combination may consist of only two (2) jumps.
    So, it is new in 2010 that pairs in the free skate can do a three jump combination. It says nothing about three jump sequences. (I wonder if someone misread this new rule and though that it applied to sequences also).

    still looking for where there is a limit on the number of jumps that count for scores in a jump sequence.

    ETA: found it!
    Rule 353 h) ii) (Determination and publication of results) (2010 Technical Rules)
    Jump sequences are evaluated as one unit by adding the base values of the two highest value jumps, multiplying the result by 0.8 and after that applying the GOE with the numerical value of the most difficult jump. The factored base value of the jump sequence will be rounded to two decimal places;
    So, S/S can do a 3T 3T 2A sequence, but the 2A jump would not count toward the jump sequence base value.

    This "two jumps count" rule for jump sequences applies to both singles and pairs skating. This rule is also in the 2008 ISU technical rules, so it is not new.

    Aliona looks like she is having fun in the Barbie Girl EX, but Robin looks silly, it doesn't fit him at all.

    We have practiced the quad throw flip, instead of the triple throw flip, in the program a few times. It did work sometimes, but it needs extremely high concentration.
    Aliona had a bad step out on the triple flip at Europeans so I wouldn't put the quad in the program just yet just because it worked a few times. I hope she doesn't get hurt trying it just to get a few extra points.

    In sport, after falling you have to stand up again and continue. Therefore the Chinese pair is responsible for us continuing. First, because they beat us at the Olympics. If we had won gold in Vancouver, we would not have continued this season.
    I would be sad if they quit just because they may have won the OGM, I think they have many more years to compete.

    HisWeirness you are a superstar!

    That explains why we never see any sequences of three jumps being performed.

    That throw has such enormous height that it must be extremely difficult to control. No wonder there are step-outs sometimes. I don't think this should mean they should stop working on the quad.

    As for hurting herself... Yes that is a concern but I'm sure they must have tried it in a harness first.

    I saw Annette Dytrt during Nebelhorn Trophy in Oberstdorf. She is training, but she said that she is not yet in top shape. She really wants to be ready for Nationals. She has two new programs. I think the SP is to "Blues for Klook". I don't know what the FS is, I forgot to ask, unfortunately. I hope that Annette will come back strong at Nationals.

    Katarina Witt is the ambassador for the Munich bid for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
    Annett Pötzsch is a coach in Dresden and also serves as an ISU technical specialist.
    As far as I know, Jutta Müller is still on the ice in Chemnitz from time to time and working with children.

    I love this program

    but the end of the program is not the right ending. Ingo gave the organization the wrong music cut, so they missed the last 5 sec. They showed the right ending later. You can see it here http://www.ardmediathek.de/ard/servl...mentId=5579386

    Great program. I usually detest Russian folklore programs as they feel so cliché after having watched the 897593, but somehow I loved this one. Lots of little details and movements that just said that this is a folklore program and cannot be skated to a random music.
    And the (right) ending is very cute.

    Robin was also cute in the interview when he said that the costumes Aljona has done again are nice as ever and then they are both laughing and rolling eyes as if they are teasing each other.
