Karel Fajfr, coach of Wende/Wende (the guy with the coo glasses) cannot be with his team in Sochi.
the german olympic committee didn't nominate him due to moral and ethic reasons.

in 1995 fajfr was pleaded guilty by court of sexual abuse of wards and got 2 years inprisonment on probation.

the deu, the german fed, fought for fajfr, wanted that past is past after all these years, but the geman committee didn't agree.
same problem was 2010, but as he trained a belgian skater too, he was nominated by the belgian committee.

fajfr feels very sd for his couple, as it's not known, who will coach them there, but will not go to court to fight against this decision.

I was very disappointed not seeing Aliona and Robin compete at the Europeeans, do you what was theillness Aliona suffered?

I hope she will be fine for the Olympics. I so want them to win over the Russians couple.

the ISU aticle on the Euro Pairs competiton cites the medical bulletin as saying that Savchenko suffered from a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract, and elsewhere it was reported that she'd endanger their Olympics if she continued after the SP.

    Wow, this is pretty scary.

I hope she recovers well. I so want to watch them at the Olympics.

Thanks a lot for the info.

I am sorry for the Wendes. True, they must have known about Fajfr´s past, but still it feels unfair for them. I hope they will skate well despite this.

Is he the primary or secondary coach of Simancikova? German fed doesn't have to nominate him if the Slovak one would. Didn't they find a little loophole for Vancouver too?

they did, as he appeared there because he had a belgian athlete too.
now it seems no other fed is nominating him. hope the problem will be solved til 2018. prölls/blommaert seem straight on their way there

I thought Fajfr had another skater going to Sochi. I guess not, because if another country was counting on Germany giving him the credential, there will be another coachless athlete.

So it is confirmed that S/S will not skate the Team Event? I hoped they would skate at least one program, the one V/T are not participating in

V/T are supposed to be skating the SP only, and it is unlikely that Germany would make it to the finals against Japan, Italy, France, USA, Canada, and Russia, which means no FS.

Surely if Germany has denied their coach, they'll at least send someone to substitute? Any chance Steuer might help them? (Obviously only if it wouldn't affect S/S, but many coaches have several top athletes at once.)
