Congratulations to Shari Koch & Christian Nüchtern for winning the SILVER medal in Istanbul today!Their 3rd place FD to Albinoni's "Adagio": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1ngjvpJY-Y
"Randy [Starkman (1960-April 16, 2012)] lived by the same motto as the rest of us. The Olympics isn’t every four years, it’s every single day. He just got it." --Canadian Olympic kayaker Adam van Koeverden
they're listed in JGP Germany too !
so if they medal there again and get a better scoring
it will be added and they have a higher chance of going to
Grand Prix Final than Edwards/Pang of Canada ?
They are listed as substitutes (which I actually don't understand, as they already did their two competitions)
JGP Germany entries were submitted before they competed in Turkey. On the newest list they are no longer listed as substitutes

A little news clip of Savchenko/Szolkowy with parts of the new short and very very interesting costumes designs: http://www.mdr.de/sport/video79368_z...-04f1db33.html
Thanks for the link. Short summary:
Ingo says that the ultimate goal is Sochi and that it is hard at the moment after having won the World title 4 times as everyone is expecting a fifth title but the world title is not that important to them.
Aljona says that rest is hard for her. 3 days without ice and she get nervous and her head gets full of thoughts and after one week of holiday she is totally restless.
This season they get costumes by a designer duo and they say that the costumes will be totally different from other costumes in skating. We will see.![]()
and here are videos from Aliona and Robin's trainings with parts of their new short program:
dance lift with changing positions, twist and death spiral
step sequence and lift
the whole program (no elements were done except steps but you can see how they're placed in the program, some of the transitions)
You can trust Aljona, Robin and Ingo to always come up with something new and different. I love that they are not shying away from trying out something "risky", something that might be controversial.
Now I'm really curious if these will be the costumes for the long or for the short program.
i totally agree; but i would be pleased to see more innovative lifts of them.
although they changed their 'typical' lifts for the 2011 season completely and changed few things afterwards, they always seemed a little bit conservative compared to some spectacular lifts of other pairs.
but i hope, it´s just tactics. and ingo will just hold his superb ideas off, to let them 'bomb in' in the olympic season for a hopefully, hopefully, golden end for those three!!!
^^ Thanks for the links, but how do I find the news clip in the original link you provided?
Enjoyed viewing the practice sessions. I have an idea for S/S and S fp for the Olympic season -- something old with a modern twist. But they probably already have ideas they are thinking about.
^^ Ohhh, too bad. If you can locate it anywhere again, please re-post. And thanks!
In new season programs thread, FP for Savchenko/ Szolkowy is reportedly:
Flamenco Bolero by Gustavo Montesano
Is this then what Aliona was referring to when she said, "Everything has to grow and now we are ready to interpret this music."
Didn't expect this from S/S. This is so gonna be fantastic!!
