Abbott's SP program sounds like it's going to be amazing!! And I'm quite interested to see what Najarro can do with Malagueña for Brian. I also hope Wilson truly pours his heart into the program he is doing for Abbott and makes me love him again like I did when he did those brilliant programs for Buttle. To me Abbott is an even better vehicle for a choreographer like himself. Wow, I'm excited!

For Jeremy, that's gonne be interesting. There is something of chewing-gum / rubber / supple in his moves, he was playing with that on his SP last year. His new program should led him into a totally different direction. Had it be done by the usual (suspects) choreographers, I'd really fear about the result. But not with Najarro. That's a very good move for Jeremy.

Yeah, a little bit but I think Wilson is at his best with skaters who are actually dancers, which is Jeremy's profile.

I'm much more scared about Joubert's collaboration with Wilson.
(my take is that it was Didier's idea, as could be the collaboration between Amodio and Morozov ; Wilson to get a CoP-friendly program for Joubidoo and Morozov because he is an institution, possibly because he choreographed the most noticeable hip-hop program at the top level and Florent is likely to do one in the coming years ; grr, Morozov makes bricks alive and possibly fun to watch but Florent is anything but a brick )

Does it matter who choreographs for Joubert? In the past few years he has really shopped around, buying programs from Yagudin, Platov, several retired ice dancers and working with Lucinda Ruh and some other prominent skaters that I cannot remember. What did we get in the end? The Matrix and Matrix-look-alike.

I try not to judge programs on paper. History does not predict the future. Nevertheless.

You're probably right, and that's not a good thing.

There's a reason why I can never remember what Malaguena sounds that: it's not a very good piece of music. Pointlessly repetitive, not tuneful, nothing that stands out.

With the exit of Lambiel and Plushenko and I don't know what is going to go on with Verner Joubert will be virtually the only skater who can do quads and possibly win competitions! So that is something! I hope his choreography works out well for him and good for him for trying new things every season (even if it may wind up criticized as being easy)!

I echo others in this thread. I cannot wait to see Jeremy's SP. It seems like it has potential to be really good. The LP, eh, I'll support because it's Jeremy but on another skater I would not be very excited about it.

Um, Takahashi, Brezina, Abbott, Oda, and Kozuka train and are all capable of doing quads. Even without attempting a quad or having a reliable, consistent 3Axel, Patrick Chan with sloppy jumps has been outplacing Joubert in the judges' scorecards due to his PCS and high level 4s on non-jump elements. It's not like Joubert is in any kind of position to be considered the untouchable favorite among the current men, particularly given the very disappointing past couple of seasons he's had.

I like this version of Malaguena. I'm a bit sorry if this is the one Brian chose because I'm afraid I will compare him to Stéphane then...
