Dennis Hopper was, without a doubt, one of a kind. As the saying goes, they broke the mold after he came along.
he's been so ill, this isn't unexpected, but still sad.![]()
Q: Why can't I read the competition threads?
A: Competition forums on the board are available to those with a Season Pass or a premium membership How to View Kiss & Cry
Anybody take a look at the "In Memoriam" link on the article?

I just read an article that said he's been embroiled in a nasty divorce for the last year. That he weighed about 100 lobs for the last month or so and was too weak to go for chemo or to court (re: the divorce). What kind of person drags someone so ill through the courts? Hopefully he is a peace now. He was truly unique, and to some degree never adequately appreciated for how talented he was.
Interesting appearance on Letterman years ago (like back when Letterman was on NBC):

He was one of my favorite actors.
RIP!![]()
Wow. what a loss, truly one of the great actors of his time. Poor guy.
I am free of all prejudices. I hate everyone equally.~W. C. Fields
Sadly, I think the only two movies of his I've ever seen are Speed and that godawful Super Mario Bros movie... but I lurved both of those when I was a kid, so, he has a special place in my heart and I am very sad to hear this.
He was also in an early early episode of The Twilight Zone where he played a Nazi. He really had a good range.
In my spare time, I like to interview figure skating legends.
Was checking out a Viggo Mortensen fan site to see if there's any news on the start of the new Cronenberg movie he's going to be in and learned the news that way a few minutes ago. Viggo and Dennis were very close friends, therefore why it was posted there.
Not only was he a talented actor, but also a very talented photographer as well. Some of Dennis' pieces I've seen over the years online at various Gallery websites have just taken my breath away. He truly was a very gifted man and as others have said, the mold was truly broken when Dennis was made.
May he Rest In Peace.![]()
I loved him in "Waterworld". His sense of humor made the character so interesting, given that he played a really bad guy!
He was a "one of a kind".
RIP.
The first film I saw him in was Easy Rider. I thought he was a really talented actor.
ETA..that wasn't the 1st, the 1st one was Giant. He played Elizabeth Taylor's & Rock Hudson's son.
Agreed.
And I should add, RIP.![]()
I always liked his acting, but his role in 'Blue Velvet' was strange, strange, strange.
The first movie I remember seeing him in was Giant. Interesting bunch of folks in that movie.
